Looks like the Heat streak is in actual jeopardy tonight.

Finally! That damn streak by The Heat is OVER! Magic got screwed like 10 games back against them so I never took it seriously. TY Chicago!

Re: Around The League
Yes I am glad that the Heat lost because the streak shouldn't have been this long. We got robbed in that game in Mia 2 weeks ago. That Tobe offensive foul call still irks me as well as several others. I will keep that one in the memory bank for when we become contenders again.
LA almost blew the game against Minny cuz they used the hack a Dwight and it worked:
Same old Dwight strikes again. Yup I am not surprised. I find if amusing that D'Antoni insists that "he'll get over it". This is Dwight he is talking about.

Down 14 with six minutes to go, the Wolves used ''Hack-a-Dwight'' to cut back into the lead. Howard went 2 for 8 and Chase Budinger's putback made the score 114-111 with just over a minute to play.
''We're not going anywhere without him getting over that,'' Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said of Howard's free throw struggles. ''He'll get over it.''

Re: Around The League
Just when I was starting to think Lebron had grown up and wasn't the immature jerk he was in Cleveland he shows his true colors again (I don't watch the Heat often so I don't notice if these are his normal antics).
Gets mad because Gibson commits a somewhat hard foul (nothing compared to what Howard gets on a nightly basis). He's guilty of these exact fouls himself and gets all mad because they don't call a flagrant when he's trying to sell it as one in a close game where he's losing.
So they're down 7 with a few minutes to go. He's upset he didn't get a flagrant called on Gibson. He's chasing history. What does he do? He sees Boozer coming to set a pick, eyes him the entire way and throws his entire shoulder and even extends his arm as hard as he can into Boozer. And then he complains that it's a flagrant.
After the game he whines, says Gibson's foul "wasn't a basketball play" yet forgets his own goonery. Yet, according to him, he's not crying over it. This guy may be the most talented player since Jordan, but his personality is a joke and I hate him now more than ever.
Down 7, chasing a truly historic number, and he does something that dumb. Smh. So glad it's over.

Re: Around The League
For Lebron to criticize the refs is horrible. He gets tons of calls, you cant even touch the guy. Guys get spoiled I guess.

Re: Around The League
Were you guys watching the same game I was? Sure LBJ gets a lot of calls but since he is the biggest strongest wing EVER he also takes a lot of hard fouls that would be called flagrants on most other players. I think he lost his cool but I can't blame him those were dirty non basketball fouls. Really not sure it is worth hating LBJ over unless you have a personal issue with him

I can see your point, but do you watch Heat games?? Or Lakers games (Kobe)?? Or Thunder games (Durant)??
Some of these guys consistently get the most ridiculous foul calls, you can barely look at them without being called for a foul .. This was just playoff basketball. Hard-fought, physical basketball. Nothing wrong with that
IMO these guys are in no position to complain about the officiating. And no, this is not "having a personal issue" with him, this is being realistic

I don't believe Gibson's foul was a flagrant in the least bit. Lebron was charging past him very fast, and Gibson swiped down at his arms and the ball. Lebron's body carried into him was pulled down incidentally. It sucked, it was a hard foul, but flagrant? No. And then he goes and retaliates at a player that had nothing to do with the play.
There's a difference between a hard foul and a flagrant. And I don't think Gibson's foul was neither unnecessary or excessive. He's trying to prevent a wide open dunk and the risk of injury James was no worse than anyone else going up and challenging him.
Also about a minute before this mind you, you can see Lebron clearly push the player fronting him in the post in the back. The player goes two feet forward and Lebron winds up with a wide open layup while the player races back. The ref doesn't call that though, because at that point it's a 9 point game and it's Lebron James.

Re: Around The League
Pacers were hoping to have Granger back but he's done for the season and will have left knee surgery. Could have been useful against the Heat in a potential playoff matchup.

Have the Bucks just iced out Jennings? Two games he's not on the court in crunch time.

Yup, there's a thread on the Bucks' forum about it... viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1241473

Re: Around The League
Scottie Pippen was better player than LeBron. And BTW he dunked on bigmen like Mailman, Ewing, Mourning and was fouled much harder.

Re: Around The League
LeBron should just shut up. For that matter so should Riley, then again Riley is only doing what he's supposed to do for his team, but he forgets his Knicks teams were hard-nosed, the no-layup rule and so on. I applaud the Bulls for standing up and playing hard-nosed ball. The reason LeBron gets all this wide open dunks down the lane is because of how Stern has pussified the league. Gibson only did what guys like Oakley would have back in the day, a good hard foul, not flagrant to let him know you're not just parading right through untouched buddy. And Boozer saw the shoulder coming and took it like a man, that's basketball.

Nice, if Lakers lose tonight they'll only be a half game ahead of the Mavs heading into their showdown on Tuesday.
