Caveat to the Pacers. They must close it out on Saturday. If Knicks push to 7 I think they win the series.

Indiana will play loose and freely tomorrow. IMO they have a much better chance at closing it out tomorrow than they do in game 6. Mentally, they can play pressure free. But come game 6, the psychological aspect of having to close out the series or risk going back on the road in a game 7 possibly blowing a 3-1 series lead. That's quite a load to handle mentally. Thursday night is their best bet to end the series.

I hope that Prigioni starts and plays major minutes, because Prigioni & Shumpert are by far the Knicks best perimeter defenders. Shumpert has to guard George and Felton is completely incapable of defending at the PG position. Kidd is also not capable of effectively defending at the point, especially for significant minutes. Neither one of those players can defend the pick-and-roll nor can they pressure the ball like Pablo can. The Knicks defense has only looked decent when Prigioni & Shumpert are on the court, and Kidd hasn't had consistently good defensive games since early in the season. Both Kidd & Felton are better suited to defend at the SG position.

I doubt the Knicks will be able to win 3 straight, especially with a potential game 6 in Indiana. I doubt they could win 2 out of the next 3 games even if they were all at MSG. This more of an indictment of the players on this current Knicks roster than it is the fact that they are playing some great team in the Pacers.

They are just not playing the defense, rebounding, shooting the ball well enough to beat the Pacers. Hibbert and George will both have to miss the remainder of the series for NY to have a chance, and they would probably need both Anthony & Smith to shoot over 45% in each game. Chandler will also need to grab defensive board and keep the Pacers off the offensive glass. I have a better shot at winning the Powerball and Mega Millions lottery back-to-back than those things happening for NY.

Pressure is not going to affect the Pacers' ability to rebound or defend. Pressure more affects offense, and their offense hasn't been too impressive. NY's needless doubling will give them a TON of open 3-point looks and no matter how much pressure they'll feel playing against a team that they beat 2 times in a row at home, getting open looks like that will overcome any potential offensive struggles from pressure.
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

The Knicks WILL win this game. But it's going to be false hope. I can't see this team winning 3 in a row.

It really does take one game to change everything. a game 5 win puts immense pressure on Indiana to finish it in game 6. The type of pressure that tightens you up when you release the ball, miss key free throws or let your emotions get the better of you. If Woodson adjusts, the Knicks can and will take game 5.

If the Knicks don't at least win game 5 Woody should be fired and I love the guy but if he can't make the correct adjustments after two back to back losses he's just not ready to coach a championship team plain and simple...

I'm not usually a proponent of dirty play. But the Knicks need to muck it up. Our only hope is that we do to Indiana what Miami did to us in '97 - get dirty, get inside their heads, and try to force some suspensions in games 6 and 7. It's incredibly sad that I just said that. But it is what it is.

Expecting Woodson start Pablo and Cope and then bench them five minutes into the game.

Now that the Heat are waiting I wonder how eager the Pacers really are at closing out the series tomorrow knowing what's ahead. Maybe subconsciously they procrastinate and we take advantage.

Confidence is the last thing Indiana lacks. They never folded against Miami they got beat by the better team. George, Hibbert, West etc... have been talking about being amped to give Miami another go from the moment that series ended last year, believing they should have won etc... They aren't going to somehow let the Knicks win because they are afraid of Miami, that is preposterous. If anything they don't want to give Dwayne Wade a few extra days to rest his bruised knee.

Lebron had 40-18-9 in a must win game 4. I don't think Indiana is shaking in their boots that Carmelo can duplicate that kind of performance in game 5.

I think this is either a win or a huge blowout loss. I don't see us losing a close game. We'll either win and win comfortably because JR makes some lucky chucks or we lose because he attempts 15+ shots and shoots 30% on them with no FT attempts and no 3 pointers.

You're suggesting that instead of sealing the series tomorrow they would rather subconsciously do it in game 6 or game 7 so they can play the Knicks in extra games and delay playing Miami by 2-3 day. That my friend is almost the perfect example of some straws being clutched. But hey we need every little bit of confidence we can get

I'm saying they know a beatdown awaits if/when they win their next game.

So wouldn't we be just as affected knowing we have to win three games and even then a beatdown awaits us?

I think what was initially intended to be said is that they might already have their heads in Miami for Game 1 instead of New York for Game 5. We'll all find out that answer in a few hours.
