Cuban's on the phone with that guy from No Country for Old Men.

The NBA needs to do away with this 10 signing grace period anyway. What's the point?

If I agreed with you I should be able to sign with you... Wth is the agreement period about?

Wtf man. Verbally agreeing to a contract and now backing out from it is just ethically wrong. Its one of those unwritten rules in baseball that everyone knows and has to respect.

Has this happened before in the NBA?

Not quite the same but the Phillies booked Bobby Bonilla ( yes I'm that old) on a plane, sent a limo to pick him up at the airport, then he paid off the driver to take him 2 hours north to the New York Mets where he eventually signed.

Hopefully DJ re-signs with the Clippers and Mark Cuban can hold another L.

It was different. It had to do with an oral agreement Boozer had with the Cavs prior to the end of the season when he would be a RFA. Cavs claimed they had a deal in place for his return. Boozer then signed his deal with the Jazz. Cleveland sought to enforce it's oral agreement and lost, I believe. Those kind of agreements specifically are outlawed by the new CBA.

If anything this would strengthen the Clippers bond with DJ. Getting past their differences right now would go a long way.

Better team.
More money.
In Los Angeles.

With DJ on the mavs, Thats doubtful/debatable. Plus the mavs offer him more of a role on offense and to be "the guy". Guys always get attached to those things. Thats what you dream off when growing up.

It was worse. Boozer talked the Cavs into not extending the QO by promising that he'd re-sign for the MLE. Then he left for more money.

Sources: Phil Jackson has also landed in Houston. However, he was found in possession of Peyote and did not make it past security.

But comparing the Clips with DJ and the Mavs with DJ, I don't think it's close. Especially now that Ellis is gone and the Mavs don't have a PG to lob to Jordan.

Clippers about to replace Houston and San Antonio as the most hated team by Mavericks' fans.

What?

DJ on the Clips >>> DJ on the Mavs

Clippers are younger and have 2 top 10 players.

I can't disagree with DJ wanting more of an offensive role but the ceiling is exponentially higher with the Clippers.

I think there will always be friction between CP3 and Jordan its just the way they are wired. While they probably get over it, I'm not sure players love other guys airing dirty laundry out there for the public. Thats why most of these stories come out after the players leave (which we all thought DJ did).

Before the Rondo trade Dallas was one of (if not the top) top lob teams in the NBA, and they still have the same PGs (except Nelson) and if they get Lin, then that is another PG.

It would hurt DA's and the Clippers reputations. Not the agents.

No one would do business with an agent who on a whim can convince someone to go elsewhere after making a promise. Jordan's agents rep is on the line here.

If he is representing a client that is in high demand teams would careless about what DJ did. All he has to day is that he respects the decisions his clients make.
