even more of a dumb signing.

You dont think Randle is a better player? More a curiosity question than a challenge to your opinion.

better doesn't mean he's good

ppl gotta stop falling for players that drop 20 yet give up 24 on the other end.

Fair enough. Empty stats do suck. Maybe he tries the next two years on defense and maybe he doesn't and then his option is not picked up. One bright spot, this is exactly the contract we should have gave THJ on this type of gamble. Maybe Mills and Co are learning.

Yeah I could see that. Horford has some defense and passing to his game but at his age.... Harris played like an elite shooter at times last year but at 36 per..... yeah.. I could see this.

Pretty sure 10 games in , this entire board will be on Randles nuts. I think him and Mitch are going to look great next to one another.

Intriguing Randle Stat

Post#225 » by BrOnXKing1 » Tue Jul 2, 2019 12:34 am

He averaged nearly 25ppg after the all star break in 33 mins per game on 50% shooting. That would place him somewhere around 11/12th in scoring for the season. If the guy gives us 25 and 10, he becomes a solid building block next to RJ. Now we just need one or two of Robinson, Knox, and DSjr to become the next quality block to build around.

How you get your points and how it impacts winning matters more than raw ppg numbers to me.

In fairness, he scored very efficiently last season with a .600 TS%, which is truly encouraging. But can he be a 20 ppg scorer on a winning team? Can he average those numbers as a full-time 4 without a drop in efficiency? If not, we should probably recalibrate our expectations slightly.

He has improved every year though, and by all accounts he's a hard-worker, so if he keeps extending his range and improving on defense, he could definitely be a winning player and a building block.

I have some reservations about Randle (shades of David Lee) but I will give him the benefit of the doubt and support him 1000%. Can't wait to see him and RJ play.

The more I look into Randle, the more I like. The Lakers fanbase definitely has a positive view of him overall

With Randle and RJ in the starting line-up, I don't think Knox will start this year.
He will be better served coming off the bench. Dotson would be the better option starting at the 3.

Love this signing. Everything about it is pretty great,

Will be nice to have a guy who can handle usage down low.

Signing Randle and Taj is essentially throwing Knox development this season entirely. I know they didn't overspend per say, but they are **** their own homegrown assets and not even caring.

Im telling you he's a beast. He'll quickly become a fan favorite as he dominates the paint and drawls fouls. This leaves RJ open to cook. Mitch will benefit from a relentless powerhouse in the paint as well.

Don’t you want Knox busting them up in practice and taking the reigns as opposed to gifting him things?

Part of developing these kids is teaching them what work looks like and hoping they mimic. And coaches use who will help them win. If Knox is making the case he’s better than the other guy, this year, he’s gonna play. If not to start the season then as it goes on and becomes apparent. This isn’t last season. No Kanter/Tim/Trey to showcase/phase out. Sans Frank and Dot, all Pills guys.

The showcasing this go is on Pills handiwork and Fiz’s coaching. Can’t just sim the season.

So while I don’t quite think playoffs is a must but we can’t win 17 games this season either.

Every player on this roster has competition to the left and right of him in the locker room and that’s gonna keep peoples efforts honest.

Like I saw someone post, with Bobby P, Randle, Taj and Mitch, shoot even RJ, you think Knox will EVER have another 1 rebound game?? Not with all those beasts at coaches whim. He’s gonna get tougher banging around with and learning from these dudes.

Good thing he wont play center for us.

what position then? because he’s not a power forward.

now add gibson and porter and say goodbye to robinson starting.

fiz hates developing players, that was his rep and it’s proving to be true.
He can play the 4 with mitch at the 5. And he will play the 5 when mitch is out.

The guy improved his 3 point shooting every year and shot 34% off 2.7 attempts. Why are people saying he cant shoot?

Also, he is notna rim protector and playing without AD's shot blocking showed in his stats. With a rim defender like mitch next to him, he will be not be a minus defender.

Fiz, Perry and Mills clearly have confidence that they can develop players. I hope we end up praising them for getting a team option on that 3rd year.

Taj is 33, he ain't gonna play much. He is there for veteran leadership. Like DeAndre helped Mitch last year and how Delly helped sexton last year after he came back to the 'land.

Veteran leadership/mentorship is extremely important. Vonleh, Kanter, Jordan, Mario, Lance, and mudd, are all out. We have more than enough min for our youth.
