His swing is broken. He can't generate lift on anything, and because the plane of the swing is so flat, he rolls over the top a ton, and it's opened up holes that weren't there before. It might all be fallout from the back, I don't know, but it's a miracle when he's gets the ball out of the infield these days.

At the end of August, it seemed like Yelich was starting to heat up. Not sure what happened to him after that and really the whole Brewer offense in September.

It has to be the back, I get that he might not be MVP level every year but you can't just lose all your hitting ability like this for no reason. They have to figure out some kind of plan this offseason, whatever it takes. This version of Yelich can't be the guy we roll out there next year.

Re: Brewers/Braves NLDS
yeah, idk what happened to his lift, he just grounds everything. even that double play was hit very well but 18/19 yelich crushes that one to the OF.

Back is the best guess, yeah. Unfortunately back injuries are a mystery box for a lot people. Sometimes they bounce back to 100%, sometimes it becomes a chronic, debilitating thing.

Re: Brewers/Braves NLDS
Welp, have to start Burnes tomorrow assuming he's up to it. Lauer can back him up if they don't want to push his pitch count too high.
Woodruff and Freddy can tag team Game 5 if it gets to that point. Hader is fresh so we should be using him pretty liberally.
Keep fighting, if we go down, I want to see our best pitchers out there when it happens.

so, we know what the problem is: not scoring a run in 19 straight innings.
The brewers were supposed to be the ones who could dominate with their pitching.

Is it the kneecap? He was MVP for almost two seasons before that fluke play. I guess everything's connected, so maybe his back is related to losing strength or flexibility in the knee, maybe by compensating and what not.

Has anyone seen batting practices? He used to put on a show. Wondered if he isn't even hitting at batting practice.
And has anyone looked at batted ball velocities and launch angles?

That's a great idea. We should've told him to try to do that.
I would’ve told him to hit a homer but I’m a better motivational speaker than most.
I would have told him to pick up the first base coach on the way around the bases and make it a grand slam.
but I'm a leader.

50/50 green font.
I've been told that it doesn't matter how you end the year.
I think I've been lied to.

Exit velocity is the worst of his career and the launch angle is one of the worst and total **** overall.
