You're right if Wagner was getting an uncontested basket at the end of a blowout win I probably wouldn't complain. I didn't really care who won the matchup.

Rookies have off nights. Cade is fun to watch regardless. Once there is an actual team around him, I think he'll become that much more dangerous. Mobley vs Cade should be fun to watch in a few days

franz with his 2nd straight 20 plus game 24 pts in 27 min on 7 of 12 shooting and 2 of 3 from 3 and nice 8 of 8 from the line in game 50

wagner's game is really smooth. he's got a great combo of his size, skill and IQ. tbh and i might get blasted for this but it seems that he's the kind of player people hope scottie barnes becomes. i mean that in terms of being a 3-level scorer that can also handle the ball, make plays and play smart defense.

and suggs is a pitbull defensively. he hounded cade all game long, played passing lanes, had an impressive chase-down block on mcgruder, etc. the size the magic have on their front line really lets suggs freelance on the perimeter and it's fun watching him blow up plays both on and off the ball.

Cade looked a lot better than the numbers show. His decision making was good, shots were mostly within the offense. One thing that would worry me is his low free throw rate.

yeah those two things you never really have to worry about with cade and it shows the maturity of his game.

the free throw rate, to me, is probably his biggest long-term concern. i have some faith that it will get better - he has shown he can get to his spots and get to the rim. hopefully as he improves overall, defenders will be forced out of position more and that'll lead to more free throws. cade also had a good free throw rate in college (.390, 5.8 attempts a game vs. .138 and 2.1 FTA/G this season) so maybe it will just take a little time to translate to the nba.

but yeah, if he doesn't get to the free throw line more it really puts a ceiling on his scoring efficiency.

As a Magic fan, I love how Cade plays. He had a 34 points just few days ago so I know he is going to be great regardless of him having a bad game. Cade is gonna be an all star in a few years. We got our selves some really good rookies between Pistons and Magic.

cade's numerous off nights are whats preventing him from winning roy. if you want to be the best player, you need to be consistent and not have 20% fg nights. the way to do it is not over rely on 3s and keep attacking the rim. you cant be a great player if you score below 10 every week.

He takes enough threes at a low percentage to hurt his personal numbers a bit, but I think the thing hurting him most is that Garland is the offensive engine in Cleveland and Mobley tends to see a lot of minutes with Garland on the bench. Mobley gets a short rest each quarter, Garland gets a longer rest typically around the quarter breaks.
RAPTOR and other on/off tracking metrics tend to pick up noise from substitution patterns.
