Haven't listened to the episode. But I never thought I'd say this: Bontemps is now the only one on that podcast who at least isn't constantly acting as a mouthpiece. I've never liked him because he comes across as a bit whiny and know-it-all, but at least he occasionally talks some real stuff.

I'm a long time listener, and I'm well aware of Windhorst LeBron/Rich Paul bias and McMahon being slimey, but they took it to next level, and it started in last year PO bizarre rant about Luka after game 3.

Windhorst hates Luka and his rant in The Finals drew backlash.

It's amazing how it all came crashing down in 24 hours.

Adelson group also looking bad.

Nico = Ringleader
Dumont = ignorant noob
Windy = Luka hater
MacMahon = Mavs shill

This is amazing drama, and it's only getting started.

Not sure if this adds much value, but I recently had an adductor strain. Was seemingly "mild" I didn't even notice it until the next day and I couldn't play for almost 3 months despite doing physio exercises a few times a week.

Obviously not the same as a professional athlete with round the clock care, but speaking from personal experience, groin strains can linger on a lot more than one might think.

Damn now I have to listen to the Hoop Collective although I’m seriously starting to dislike Bontemps.

Bontemps has always been god awful. He has such a unlikeable personality with zero charisma and is wrong often but talks like his word is law.

Just terrible. Howdy Partner isn't far behind lol. Wendy needs better crew.

At least McMahon doesn’t take himself too seriously. Him and Windhorst sounds like they at least have fun. Bontemps sounds like a miserable prick know it all. I know it will never happen because ESPN but the show could use someone like Zach Lowe. I’ve been listening to the Athletic NBA Daily shows and some of these lineups seem to actually enjoy working with each other.

Windy is a good story teller but a horrible analyst. He had a big break by following LeBron early on. Him criticizing players over CONDITIONING, talking basketball strategy, and sharing perspectives on how any team or player should or shouldn’t play is laughable. He sounded like Whinehorst on this episode and it was hilarious.

I mean, "out indefinitely" with 29 games left is pretty rough.

Lakers will take back AD and Christie, 2029 1st round pick for Luka, only Mavs have to add 1 unprotected 1st round pick and 2 1st round pick swaps for renting AD for one game.

For real. Its just ridiculous, he's only played 69 or more games 3 out of 13 seasons. How you can say that this trade is because of Doncic's conditioning is just wild. Mavs are almost certainly going to miss the playoffs now, and AD is going to be 32 at the start of next season, while Doncic will be just 26, entering his prime.

On every level, this makes Dallas look so, so bad.

Yeah you nailed it with Bontemps. He's bottom of the barrel talent. They cheaped out on Zach. He was fun to listen too.

I'm kind of hearing somewhat varying degrees of concern. Last report I read said that this might extend to a month. Thats not the end of the world. if its more than that i agree its hard to see a path forward this season.

If he misses a month, that means nearly 50% of the remaining games.

Thats tough, but they might have enough talent to stay afloat until he returns, if its just 4 weeks. they did just beat boston with this roster. They basically need Kyrie to expend a lot of energy, and Klay to stay hot. If that keeps them around .500 for a month, they can use the remaining regular season games to get AD into playoff shape, and build chemistry. They could still be a dangerous team nobody wants to match up against.

Again... if its more like 6 weeks, or longer, then this season is more or less done for them. Im hoping thats not the case.

I'm not placing bets that if AD misses a month that Dallas accomplishes much of anything, tbh.

They have won 9 of 24 games after Luka's injury. They will need to win a lot more now.

Btw. Nico didn't traded just for 1 injured player, he got injured player back in Grimes trade too.

yeah i did think that Grimes trade was a bit of a head scratcher too, but i didnt know that Martin was injured. how long is he out for?

On the bright side, Max Christie is playing amazing basketball right now. Its at the point now where Im like "damn, couldnt we have given them Knecht instead of Max?"

Damn. Turns out this trade may not be good for the Mavs. Nobody saw that coming.
