So if he's so confident in what he did, why is he cowering behind the tunnel to watch games and why did he keep repeating "defense wins championships" over and over when their offense was the problem in the finals?

He is obviously a clown, but I am just saying, he wont say he messed on a trade 2 months into it. If it was trading 14th. man, maybe, owner wont can you for making small mistake. But if he comes out and admit he made the biggest mistake in NBA history, he might as well look for another job instantly. Obviously he is comfortable getting paid to be biggest clown GM in the history of sport.

For what’s it worth, Rob also negotiated down with Nico when he also wanted Knecht and more picks.

So it’s not like Nico said the words Luka, laid out the trade and Rob just simply said yes.

This trade is still a scandal and should be treated like so. Absolutely disgusting.

Looks like some teams would do better without a GM at all. Just let AI suggest trades and reply to requests from another teams.

He would easily get one with his friend, Rob there in Laker Land

Luka Doncic on Nico Harrison's "Defense Wins Championships" comments: "It's sad the way he's talking right now. I never say anything bad about him. I just want to move on." He says he has not spoken to Nico Harrison since the trade, and did not even speak to him on the night of the trade.

Man the Mavs mucked up - cause not only will they never win a ring while Luka is in the league - Luka is going to personally make sure of it -

This seemed odd to me. Don’t GMs normally tell the player they’ve been traded directly, especially when it is your franchise player. Seems really off putting on Nico to not have told Luka as soon as it was finalized. Maybe the story leaked and Luka then refused to talk, but it isn’t a good reflection on the Mavs imo. For a guy that took you to the finals, he likely deserved a better exit.

Ya, that's what makes this even crazier. Not only did you trade a top player, but slandered him on the way out and gave him eternal fuel to burn the league down. Insane strategy.

I still remember how many people said they went to NBA2k and tried to do the exact same trade and AI said NO! Imagine Nico in a Terminator movie vs Skynet. My money is on Nico.

This is such a weak argument. Nico wanted to trade 26 year old prime Luka for always injured 32 year old AD, we all 100% understand that he had the leverage to hold out for more. The entire world is completely baffled about why he only talked to LA and why he would’ve ever traded Luka for that with or without Knecht, so it seems strange to start thinking Pelinka was negotiating brilliantly rather than Nico was just really not understanding his hand.

People in the other thread claiming the draft lottery is rigged. Naah, THIS right here is rigged. Harrison made the NBA, and Lakers in particular, a LOT of money with this trade. He'll be just fine. Probably getting a fat paycheck under the table for this. The only possible reason it went down. Still baffles me months later.

Nico never told him which is why Luka reportedly threw his phone at the wall

Thank you Nico.

For freeing Luka from a dysfunctional franchise while simultaneously taking a Finals team to a squad that missed the playoffs the next year.

That's Nico Magic.

Come on Nico, time for another press conference. Let the cameras enter this time, I want to see your blank face.
