I was just thinking he could take Cojo's role as the 3rd PG.Skybox wrote:jezzerinho wrote:basketballRob wrote:Trade Goga for Jose Alvarado. The Pelicans have a trade exception to fit Goga. Offer Moe a 4-yr deal starting off at $7m. Use the MLE to sign NAW. Draft a center.
Alvarado can be used as a 3rd PG. He makes around $3m less than Goga.

Not a bad idea, imo.
Yeah...a backcourt rotation of Bane/Suggs, Alvarado/Black with some budget 5th guy is pretty strong...if we did get NAW, he and AB could get minutes at SF too. I think Alvarado is a legit backup PG - he gets 3's up and collects decent assist #'s. IDK is he's a good defender more than just the funny steals and manic energy, but I'm down.

I think he's better than that and he could play next to AB (who I assume is your 2nd PG)

Goga is a different player. He has high confidence and is much more comfortable and aggressive.
Mental is Goga’s biggest roadblock in the NBA. We just traded his best friend Cole.
Goga is a pnr center. When he plays in that offense he looks good. When he doesn't he doesn't. His mental state is prob due to being a square peg in the Magic round hole.
To be fair, the players we are building around are Paolo and Franz so if it’s not a good match he is the one out.
Pacers have done a great job building role players. Goga was just behind to many others.
That and he got into an altercation with the assistant coaches..

But yeah.. we do need to develop another C.
don't get me wrong, i love Goga and would love to keep him, Goga is a top 30 C in this league and deserve a bigger contract and we can afford it unfortunately.
Check this out:
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/orlando-magic/yearly
P5 (30%) + Bane (23%) + Franz (25%)+ WCJ (10%) = 98% of the cap
Suggs ' contract is declining but it ll be around 15% when Goga s contract will expire, by then our 5 starters with take 113% of the cap
This is the reason why Goga will be traded
From now on, our team's 10th to 15th men will have to be on min or very cheap contracts
PS: Goga has range too, he could hit 3s if he was allowed to, he ll break out once traded
IND thought he was a stretch 5 until he sucked at 3s as what I read..

You rather our 3rd big to be an offensive player rather than a defensive one?

I don't think he is worse than Moe on defense. He's a much better rebounder and passer. He's bigger.RookieStar wrote:Redphilly wrote:Danny Wolf for me.

Not being worse than Moe on defense is not a good thing. We need JI to pair with Moe because Moe sucks on D.

Well. We still have Isaac. And he worked great together with an offensive C line Moe.

Yeah... but the purpose of our 3rd C is when ish hits the fan and Moe/JI/Goga isnt available. Who is covering for our C now? Lol

They gave up too early on him, like most teams they draft a 4 yr project and give up after 2 years (same like us with Jett

Suggs, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, Jett
Franz, TDS,
P5, JI, Panda
Wcj, Goga, Moe
Bane, AB, Jett
Franz, TDS,
P5, JI, Panda
Wcj, Goga, Moe

Brook Lopez is also bigger and I’m pretty sure my 6 year old is a better rebounder.basketballRob wrote:I don't think he is worse than Moe on defense. He's a much better rebounder and passer. He's bigger.RookieStar wrote:Redphilly wrote:Danny Wolf for me.

BRK has FOUR frps and a ton of cap space to absorb...would they take a flyer on young inexpensive Goga and Howard?
Could WCJ get us back into the draft?
WCJ and 25 to move up a few slots for 19 or 22? Brooklyn and Atlanta both have tpes to absorb his contract. Brooklyn has a lot of work to do just to hit the salary floor and lots of picks this year. Do they really want 5 rookies? WCJ could be an immediate cheaper and younger replacement for Clint capela. I'm not even sure if 25 would need to be the framework. If it was a few second round picks and keep 25 maybe we trade that pick for a future first in a year we don't have a pick

How many years does the ish have to hit the fan before we think maybe we have the wrong starter if we need to go 4 deep "just in case"

I think if you draft Wolf, you just tell Moe goodbye...you can't have two of those...I'm leaning Moe and I'd focus on collectively upgrading WCJ/Goga (and their collective salaries) into one good starter - with a couple of moves. I'm good with Isaac holding it down or some vet min bruiser like Plumlee and just count the days until Moe's return. Olynyk, an expiring $13.5m, could be interesting as part of something bigger...he's a different player than Moe, but equally a threat offensively...we could just keep him as Moe insurance this season and then flip him at TD or just let him expire. I don't have the brainspace to figure the deal to acquire Olynyk, but I don't think it'd be that hard.

Well.. im all for trading WCJ but thats not happening apparently. He and JI are the only bigs we have that can switch effectively.
Also.. you never know what could happen. Before this season no one ever thought all 4 guys of ours would miss a lot of games due to injury.. and the guys we thought gonna get injured ( wcj/JI) were relatively healthy...

In 26-27, WCJ and Claxton will be within 5m of each other and we KNOW Clax can defend all over. Mose will love him...finish the job Weltman.

Yeah.. but aside from the obvious problem of Clax which is him being a headcase which our org kinda veers away from.

I’ve never heard that
