Agreed on shooting/size/defense issues, but saying his playmaking is just DHOs is not quite accurate, at least not from POV of what he's capable of. It's more of a function of DHOs being so damn effective and Sabonis having some elite skills (great split-second decision making, passing and hard screens) that make him probably the best DHO guy in the league, so naturally coaches really leaned into using him that way. But he definitely has shown way more in his playmaking bag than just DHOs over the years. All that said, if I was Bobby, I'd probably not go for Sabonis. He's more of a floor raiser, not really the guy who will turn a team into a contender as that final piece.
And this is a completely fair response. I’d argue that we already have most of the pieces and that our overall team would significantly benefit from 48 minutes of solid C play and a passing hub for cuts. I’m optimistic that Scottie can continue his Giannis lite impression and he alongside Sabonis is beneficial in the same way it’s beneficial to have him alongside BI. We would definitely need a POA defender who can shoot though. I’m interested in Ellis (POA defender, hits open shots, doesn’t run an offense) and devin Carter to a lesser extent (potential upside, redraft candidate) and am also interested in Alvarado from NOP (similar defense, more playmaking) and Russell from DAL (overall impact, but not necessarily defensively. Undervalued asset in terms of skill base. Not needed when Kyrie returns).
To me slightly below average PG + stacked and cohesive lineup elsewhere >>> average PG, current setup. Just my opinion though.
I believe in Masai.

Why is he a 'hack'?
Seems pretty clear to anyone that Raps are desperate to deal Qickley. The fact that he's saying Raps are willing to just give the PG minutes to Shead makes a ton of sense to anyone watching the Team.
Bobby knows he needs to get off that IQ money or he's going to have his hands and ankles ties cap wise.
He may be making his story up but what he's saying is realistic.

he has no news, he is a blogger, who can see the situations teams are in around the league and make up stories based on that, he blogsstories 3-4 times a day on teams around the league but never breaks a story???
doug smith is closer to shams than siegel is to doug in terms of credibility

We would trade any starter+1st for an upgrade so this isn't news. Upgrade is the key word.

They're not "desperate" to move IQ. They know they need to upgrade the roster as the current one has a very clear ceiling. Barnes and Ingram are locks, so there are only 3 salaries big enough that can get you a significant player back: Poeltl, IQ, and Barrett. Coming into the season, the obvious move was a Barrett trade. Given current performance, Shead's emergence, and who's available on the market, it has made IQ a potential trade chip for them as well.

Re: Siegel: Toronto trade intel
I don't see a major trade happening.
Toronto cant trade IQ. He leads the team in threes and in assists and its not even close for either of them. His decision making maybe questionable but if we lose him the teams gonna be in big trouble. They aren't gonna trade him for an equal value player like say Malik Monk because it could have a negative impact on the great locker room chemistry this team has.
Poeltl is untradable. Might be the worst contract in the league right now. In order to match contracts with the stars like Davis, Sabonios, Morant etc. we need two of Poeltl, Barrett and Quickley if I'm not mistaken.

The thing is if people think Quickley’s deal is untradeable can’t see Morant’s being that much better. I would prefer Ja over quick and solve the 3PT shooting through acquiring a specialist which I personally think isn’t as hard to acquire as people think. Depth at C still an issue.

I love Jrue. He's been one of my favorite players in the league since he came in the NBA. That being said, I'm not sure how much a 35 y.o Jrue makes sense for a team that isn't near contention. His production could fall off a cliff anytime. The only way they do this is if they're really concerned about IQ's deal but this deal could just be trading one problem for another (if they have to worry about Jrue's production falling off a cliff). A year or two from now we're probably looking for another long term answer at PG again if we do this trade.

It really is this simple. It has less to do with IQ the player and more to do with IQ the salary as IQ + Ochai + Gradey = max player. In other words, instead of trading two starting players (RJ + Jak) you only trade one.
I believe in Masai.

IMO, you are objectively wrong about Poeltl. Bigs come at a significant premium in this league. Lest you forget, his current contract extension was exclusively a Bobby move. IMO, he’s not going anywhere unless we also upgrade the C position. That’s tough to do outside of, say, Giannis. You are also wrong about IQ, in my opinion. We don’t need to have more shots from our PG; we need a PG who can defend the point of attack and create spacing as a 3-point threat.
I believe in Masai.

Agreed with this, and I still think our FO can work magic with shooters. If we’re thinking long term, they’re obviously developing CMB’s outside shot, so a future death lineup with Ja/RJ/BI/Scottie/CMB could in theory be a solution.
If we’re looking for a trade present tense, IQ/Ochai/Gradey and Mogbo/a protected first or two seconds for Ja/Landale/Spencer or GG would be a trade I’d absolutely do. Note that this gets us under the tax as well.
Our starting lineup lacks shooting, but our spacing could improve and that could benefit the overall offensive flow. Our bench and overall rotation has tons of shooting, though. (Spencer/Jakobe/Battle/Mamu) I can foresee a rotation with RJ starting, but effectively being 6th man. I can also foresee all sorts of variations of a 5 out, especially with Spencer.
PG Ja/Spencer/Shead
SG RJ/Jakobe
SF BI/CMB/Battle
PF Scottie/CMB
C Jak/Landale/Mamu
If spencer is not on the table, then it’s a bit more complicated from our end and would require the services of our G-league guys like Martin and Lawson. IMO, we don’t trade a first if we don’t get Spencer.
PG Ja/Shead
SG RJ/Jakobe
SF BI/GG/Battle
PF Scottie/CMB
C Jak/Landale/Mamu
