Sounds like you've played a lot of Clue in your time Nowak. Well done.

So, you're a Gallinari guy?

I did a lot when I was a kid. I always was Mr. Green. Then when I was like 12 I got mad when I found out Mr. Green was probably a jew. For some reason my mom then hit me. :ouch:

If we stand pat at 8, he is my guy. (barring someone dropping)

What the heck do you mean re: Mr. Green Nowak?

I like that offer a lot MFScho.

This is fun. Think this through. He implied that one of us was close. That was before people started with deals for veterans but rather deals for draft picks. So as Nowak pointed out, you'd think it involves us getting a different draft pick.

He also said that the deal would go through unless some other team gets desperate and offers more for the "package".

Package would indicate that it involves more than one asset coming back to the Bucks. And the clue about a different team other than the Bucks getting desperate and offering "more" would indicate to me that the package involves a pick higher than #8. That term desperate implies a higher draft pick to me.

The part that confuses me is the "win now" part. Because I don't see any of the draft pick scenarios that are also win now. So that contradicts the part where he said one of us was close, since those guesses involved primarily draft picks.

I'm confused. My gut tells me Kevin Love would be a Hammond/Skiles player and that we'd have contingencies with Memphis, New York and LAC to move up and get him at either 5, 6 or 7. But again I don't see that as win now.

With the Knicks thing up in the wiretap and the fact Mo is a BYC player, I'm surprised no one has brought up the Marbury and #6 for Redd and filler (gadz or mase) possibility yet. I think we are getting ripped off here but like most of the media guys, I have no idea how to read Mr. Hammond at this point yet so anything is possible I suppose.

Stop pressuring wichmae into divulging too much info, therefore betraying the trust of his sources. And as a Bucks' fan he certainly wouldn't want to strategically jeopardize a deal which would benefit us. Big picture, people. Good things come to those who wait.....or some garbage like that.

Thanks for giving us the heads up, wichmae. :D

I interpreted the "win now" highlight as being the thinking of the people who would be disappointed.

I choose to believe in your #8 + CV for #5 (Love) + Warrick.

I'm not sure where that fits "win now" because Skiles won't have Marbury on the roster. And pick #6 isn't win now.

I keep thinking who would have a package deal. That could imply a pick and a bad contract to go with it. So Memphis sends Cardinal and #5 to us for Dez/#8. But again, that too is not win now.

I'm glad we don't know what's going to happen. It's more interesting to turn your computer on and wonder if a trade was made or on draft night, wondering if anything has been done already and another team might be picking for us.

One thing that's nice about having a new GM/coach, is that they have nothing invested with the players on the roster, so it would be a complete shock to me if no trades were made and all we did was draft a player at #8.

I very much want to see quite a few new faces on this years team, i'm bored silly of this soft current roster and i'm excited that some likely will be gone. Whenever i turn on the computer and come here, i'm always a tiny bit excited in hopes i see some thread titled, Redd traded, Mo traded, or Villanueva traded.

First off, wichmae has said a lot and as I posted earlier I'm appreciative of the info he's given us and completely understand why he can't reveal more. It's not a lot of fun having info you can't reveal but you still want to let people know something is happening. It's a tough balancing act but for wichmae to give us this info and continue to give us info in the future it's something he needs to keep doing. So again, thanks wichmae.

Now we can start trying to speculate on what the deal could be based on what he's told us:

1. He's ruled out CV/8 for 3.

2. He's said people may be disappointed. That seems to me to indicate it won't be Redd to the Knicks or Clips since most people here seem to be overjoyed at those trades.

3. He's pretty much ruled out that deal involving Mo due to his BYC status.

4. He's suggested one of us was close.

Combining #2 and #4, I'm wondering if my post about trading back with Portland may be in the works. We know the Blazers like Alexander and he should be there at 8. And there seem to be quite a few people in this forum who don't like the idea of trading back - or maybe it's just Luke. ;) A deal involving 8 and 13 makes a lot of sense to me given how the Bucks can move back and still get a player on the same level as the one they could draft at 8 in my opinion. It's trying to figure out the other pieces which makes it tough.
Nothing will not break me.

If Alexander was guaranteed to be there at 13, then I'd be all about a trade back. Looking at Portland's roster though, it's hard to make a lot work regarding salaries.

Not all the deals involved picks.

This is what you would call a "win now" move.

You're right, I forgot that one. But he implies unless someone gets desperate and offers more for the "package". What would the package be with Josh Howard? And how would it be contingent on "draft night"? Unless the Bucks were going to include #8 in the deal and wanted to see how draft night goes before #8 is dealt.

If someone was an insider last year and is still an insider this year, it means their source is Kohl, Babcock, or the hotdog vendor at the BC. Right?

I had no sources this year because Ersan Ilyasova's entourage was in Barcelona. Now that they are back in Mequon, expect the info to be rolling in.

What would we trade for Howard anyways? I think it'd take more than our pick and CV. They already have 2 good pg's so Mo wouldn't be an option. And I wouldn't give them Redd and 8. Not sure if they're a good trade partner either. Maybe Redd/Simmons for Josh Howard, Stackhouse, Bass? Too much to give or not enough? I can't decide anymore.

With regard to Ilyasova, if he is coming back I'm guessing that would pave the way for Dez to be traded at some point before the season. Unless Hammond thinks Ilyasova is a PF - and I saw nothing that would lead me to believe that's the case when Ilyasova last played for the Bucks - his minutes would have to come at SF. If Simmons and Dez are both still on the roster, there's not much chance for Ilyasova to get many minutes but if one of them is traded and no other SF is brought in, his chances improve. Simmons may be impossible to trade at this point and while Dez isn't very good his expiring deal should be appealing.

It's going to piss off a lot of people? Oh ****, we're keeping the pick and drafting Augustin.
