According to that our home game against Puerto Rico would be July 28th at 10:00. I think they assumed Vancouver would win and now will change the time.

What's up with the Voyageurs Cup? It looked so light and maybe made out of plastic?

I couldn't believe how cheap it looked. Has anyone ever seen it in person?

In 2008, the trophy was handed over to the Canadian Soccer Association to be presented to the winners of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship. The terms of the agreement will be reviewed in 2010.

I hope next year that it's not suddenly a new cup. I like the history behind it.

It would feel like it's all starting over again with a new cup.

If you or someone else wants to make a Champions League thread here on the OT Canada board and fill it with all the information we need I would sticky for as long as TFC is in it.

I looked into this last week when the draw was held. We would be in by far the toughest group if we get past Puerto Rico. I will start the thread and put the necessary information in it. We would have a Mexican team, another MLS team and Saprissa. A very good club team from Costa Rica.

I know it's Wikipedia but this is a great resource.

By the way what's the qualification to be put directly into the Group Stages?

It works for me too.

I am guessing that they give byes to the top teams in the top leagues in Concacaf. 2 Mexican and 2 American teams get byes. Then the top team in some other league like Costa Rica and Honduras.

It probably works the same way Europe does. The bigger leagues have more seeds that could go directly to the group stages and the lesser leagues winner (the croatian league for example) would have to play in a playoff format to make the group stages.

Wynne has been called back in by the American National team again for the Gold Cup. I am sure Guevara will play in it as well. I am getting tired of losing these players. Especially Wynne because he rarely plays.

I am actually going to watch that game. I want to see how Vancouver plays after watching their opportunity to play in the champions league killed by Montreal.

Clutch Carter wrote:Whats with the field at BMO? I know its field turf but it just looks... well really, really small. When I watch EPL or even the U21 tourny on now, the pitch looks so huge compared to BMO.

Is it just a camera angle thing or what?

It has to be smaller.. And it really throws me off when I catch a TFC game after watching EPL or something.. Just makes the match seem so amatuerish and cheap, along with the tiny stadium and huge shadows on the pitch..

But I guess we have to start somewhere.. As the sport's popularity grows there's sure to be an upgrade..
