I guarantee you steroid use is rampant in the NBA. You think these guys don't need a little extra to get through a 82 game season? Stern would probably have us believe that it was just a "rogue" should a big name ever fall. God, I can't stand that man. We need a new commish.

Here's some more sad irony to this story:

In 2005, Dixon was called to testify before Congress and the House Committee on Government Reform as part of a congressional investigation into steroid use in professional sports.

According to reports at the time, the committee invited Dixon and several other NBA players not because they were suspected of using performance-boosting substances, but rather because the committee believed they had anti-steroids messages to convey. Dixon's name was proposed by the National Basketball Players Association.

Dixon testified along with NBA commissioner David Stern and Houston Rockets trainer Keith Jones. Dixon read from a prepared statement, and Rep. Tom Davis of Virginia praised him as a "local hero."

At the time, Dixon and Jones said they had never seen an NBA player use illegal steroids.

Next we'll find out that Jones was his hook up and Stern was Mr. Big. And EG snitched on all of them (except Mr. Big, who he fears).

It's not a good day for Terps fans. Juan's made millions of dollars playing in the NBA. Why he would risk his good name for a few more bucks in Europe is beyond me.

Wizards have collapsed. Terps get blown out by Duke.

Now this.

Wonderful Saturday for Miller.

It really hasn't been a good year for the Dixon family.

Yeah, that Duke game was painful to watch - and on national tv. Of all the ACC teams, a loss to the Bluedevils is by far the one you cannot allow to happen.

I was always impressed by what Dixon was able to overcome to eventually become a success. I understand the pressure to succeed is tremendous, but Dixon should have put honor before glory at this point in his career.

Don't understand the connection between the first and second sentence. What does my ignorance have to do with Dixon's compliance with rules? I don't blame him either, because he's not my concern, but if it was a stupid decision, who's to blame but him?

Like nephew, like Aunt?

Seriously, if there's one player that needs to juice, it's Juan. Maybe he felt like he need to get stronger to last a few more years and make more money. Of course, others juice in the NBA and NFL as well.

Dallards Team Tracking Thread

Post#231 » by hands11 » Sun Feb 14, 2010 9:16 pm

With our season in the can and two of our well liked player gone to a winning franchise, I assume we will have a lot of interest in tracking and talking about them and what I kind of feel is a shared team. Something more deserving than the tracking former Wizards thread has to offer.

I could even see some fan wanting to strike up a game thread and get back to some live chats. Maybe some will just join the Dallas thread to do that.

Just wanted to give us to place to track the new Dallards who will likely be the team of lot of us cheer for into the playoffs.

Butler may not get the minutes to put up all-star numbers, but I could see him returning to the form of his All-Star season. I think playing with Dirk will give him a lot of chances to attack the basket, which is when he is at his best.

Come on mods. Give it a rest.

This is not the same thing by a long shot and is deserving of it own thread for the remainder of the season. We just sent two of our best players to one team. No need to merge this new thread into a catch all thread where we talk about players like Ramos and Ruffin.

All you do is alienate people when you over mod. Don't take the fun out of the board. This season suck enough as it is. Your hear to keep some sense of order not be so anal that people are walking on egg shells.

The San Antonio Spurs’ front office is working with Roger Mason’s(notes) agent to trade the veteran guard to a team where he can have a significant role.

“Roger had a terrific season last year after the Spurs had a bunch of injuries, and now that everyone is back healthy and his minutes are limited, the Spurs are trying to do the right thing and find a good spot for him,” Mason’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told Yahoo! Sports on Monday.

Mason, 29, is averaging 19 minutes and 7.4 points per game. He averaged 30 minutes and nearly 12 points a game a season ago. Mason is in the final season of a two-year deal with Spurs.

One league executive says there’s “significant” interest from other teams in dealing for Mason.

The Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies are being considered as possible destinations for Mason.

Thanks Ernie.

OH. MY. GOD.

This is the guy who was SHAKING HIS FINGER AT CONGRESS, basically, saying "look at me! How could I possibly be taking steroids! THERE ARE NO BENEFITS IN THE NBA TO TAKING STEROIDS!"
