I agree. He's not explosive right now, but wouldn't it be possible to improve on that regard with targeted exercises?

Although hops and explosiveness are frequently a natural thing. I think it can be improved however he also had to add upper body bulk to be able to bang in the post so that weight would have counter acted some of the lower body improvements he may have had.
It's not like he was ever going to become a pogo stick, when he was thin he had quick hops and more agility/balance to keep the ball high and get it to the rim quickly. Now he is slower and doesn't seem to be able to make catches and plays while in motion anymore.
Like he has to pause and think and gather himself before everything.
