You'd have to think ORL would be an attractive place for him though... If Howard stays he contends... If he leaves jr becomes "the man"

Lol so it comes down to J.R Smith....it's funny because from the very beginning i said that he was what we needed...a guy who can create his own shot...a scorer for sure....even though it was china he dropped what about 60? We have a slim chance...Dwight would have to do his part and recruit but man it would screw up the rotations....Don't know if J.R would come here if he knew he would have a limited role....It's funny though because i can't see SVG wanting him here even though J.R would be the very thing Stan himself says that we don't have and need.....

jr is too risky for stan. he likes duhon and nelson type players

It's that kinda thinking that has us at 17-11...imo we should be 21-7....I agree though....J.R would fall out of the comfort zone for Stan...Even though J.R is exactly the player we need stan would rather have a guy that he can control....

Jrich, hedo, and jr would be tough to squeeze into the 4th together But if one of those 3 would be content with torching the second unit whoa buddy.

Would assume Jrich would get traded for size

JR IS the type of player we need. He has an allstar level scoring ability. We probably won't get him though.

Really? I disagree... We can give him a better role then everyone not named Chicago, and we are warmer. Seriously, he'd be the rebuilding piece if a finals run doesn't turn out.

Not sure what kind of money we can offer, that could be a problem.

someone recently said we used a mil of our MLE on Earl, so that leaves us with 4 mil which is still more than most.

I must be missing something, because the player im looking at is a candidate for worst defender in the league, and is largely unmotivated to try and change that. He gets a few steals, but only because he gambles WAY too much, which often leads to easy points for the other team.

I mean, is he really that much better for us than JJ/JRich? Personally, id prefer the guys we have. If we need slashing, we have Von, who for the record, is scoring at the same rate as JR, and is much cheaper, and less of a risk.

Dont see the appeal.

Just checked the stats, Von actually has a better true shooting percentage, and scores almost the same points per 40 mins. So yeah, ill pass. Von is a cheaper alternative...

I don't think there is anybody worse than J-Rich...he just lets people through he might as well be a door man....The only reason i want J.R is because the one thing he does well is what we need....he doesn't need a screen or a pick to score....1on1 he can break you down and score in bunches...he's a better scorer than von is and more athletic too....but i can understand it if he's not your cup of tea...he's an acquired taste...I look at J.R and what i see is a creator and that's the appeal at least for me...Stan says all the time that we don't have a creator...so....get one....

on one hand jr is a crazy sob that will probably drive svg/fans nuts on the other hand he can do things that the magic are in desperate need of i.e. score the darn ball. I think its a toss up, but I believe he will go to nyk and take the starting spot form fields.

What's the sample size?
Quality of competition?

JR has unlimited range, and can get to the rim whenever he wants. we NEED a scorer like this
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
