The Amar'e deal was only bad because of the lack of a team option. He was clearly a consolation prize, but his salary was more than fair for what he brought at the time.

At least Phil is admitting that the season and Plan A are lost causes. None of this means anything if good players aren't brought in. Anyone can dump players and take nothing in return, it's how you build from the ground that counts
