Does anyone think Len is better than a healthy Festus Ezeli?

I mean i have Nurkic as being better than Plumlee.....and somehow the Blazers also got a 1st out of it for taking on Nurkic, while Plumlee is an expiring and also get a Blazers 2nd.
Why in God's name would you have Nurkic as better than Plumlee?
Well to start, he is 4 years younger and his PER 36 stats are right there even with Plumlees, and even surpassing him in Points/Rebounds. Also Plumlee is a expiring, so you have to also factor in the cost of re-signing him....when they already have a much much better starting C with Jokic. Honestly kind of a head scratcher for me as to why Denver would make the move.
The Nurkic/Jokic situation had become toxic. Nurkic needed to go. Portland probably took advantage because they couldn't dump Nurkic elsewhere, but Plumlee is the smarter and better player. Plus, he may be a free agent but he is restricted. As for the 1st round pick, Denver is so deep with players and young guys right now, and still have their own pick, that's really not that big of a deal. That Memphis pick will be something like the 23rd pick, and Denver already has their own, which will be, at worst, the 15th pick. They are ready to compete. I expect both of those teams to keep dealing though.

That's why I think we'll draft a SF, it gets way too messy with the guard dynamics if we take a PG top 5.

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion 3: About Last Knight
I think McD will move PJ for that MEM 1st that Portland just received, and a contending team will take PJ with a young player going to Portland
Maybe something like
Norman Powell to Portland,
1St Mem to PHX
PJ to Toronto

That's a ridiculous notion.
You DO NOT pick for fit or need when your team is a 20 win team.
Look at Pistons picking Darko over Bosh, Wade etc. Because they needed a stretch 4/5.
If Ball or Fultz are there... you grab them and package Bledsoe for a lottery pick between 10 to 14... or for a future lottery pick or two.
Save 14 million.
Suns will be MAXED out salary wise if they keep everyone and extend Len and Warren..... a 20 win team with bad fitting players and no flexibility..... might as well quit being a Suns fan for a while to save yourself a miserable life for the next decade.

More than Miles Plumlee, less than Gobert. Probably Joakim Noah money.

I personally agree, but if you look at the sentiment from last year people wanted Bender because of fit.
And so did the FO, they overlooked 3 guards and picked 2 PFs for need.

I think the FO went after the guys they perceived to have the highest ceiling.

I didn't think of this but if Orlando wants 1sts then Portland can help. Probably one of the Memphis picks or theirs AND the Cavs pick. Along with Festus. I don't think the Magic can do much better than that.

Agreed. Plus, I don't believe any of those players were considered sure things over the others.
In this coming draft, if Ball and Fultz are considered possible game changers, then you pick one of them.
After that, I probably go with Jackson

This does make sense - can anyone really offer better than two late '17 1sts for Ibaka?
If POR adds Ibaka, adding one of the abundantly available scoring centers (Cal, OK4, Monroe, Kanter, Vuc) really starts to make sense for them. Effective, quick rebuild.
I guess Denver really values Plumlee. You gotta like his assist numbers - not many centers are capable of having such a positive effect on a team's offense.
I think Alex has more value than Plumlee, though he might not be compensated quite as much. I just want to see Alex play with a distributing PG.
Given the team's latest struggles, I'm back on Team Trade Bledsoe. First I conducted the train, then I hopped off the train, now I'm hitched onto the caboose. Woo hoo! What a season.
bw - I am now firmly on your side about Denver being a great target in a trade for us. Bled is the best PG on the market. He's young enough to grow with the team, especially considering that (1) they are (unlike us) already ready to compete and (2) they just acquired mason, who is 26, presumably to play sixth man to jokic. The Nugs should be interested in him, and we should be open to a fair deal for him. He'd be a great fit with a passing big man and shooting guards like Murray and Harris. The Nugs have assets to spare. It makes sense.
Your earlier proposal also seems to approach fair value from my perspective - Hernangomez, Barton, 1st. I think it's a little short, and I think you could simply add Mudiay. You could also put Gallinari in the deal - to a third team, obviously, but I think if there is a deal to be made with Bled headed to Denver, it will invariably involve a third team. There's a lot of liquid value here, but not all of these parts make sense coming back to Phoenix.
I'm returning to a refrain from earlier in the year. We must PLAY ULIS. His passing is transformative.
I would also like to see Tyson moved. I think this locker room has already absorbed a lot from Tyson; he's done what we've needed him to do. Alex needs to play.

I think Smith is also in the conversation at #3. I expect Jackson would get the nod, just because you can see, watching our offense, how useful it would be if TJ had ball-handling skills. That's what sets Jackson apart. I still don't think it's a lock that Ball goes #2.

If the Suns had made that trade with Portland, this place would be on fire calling for McD's head.

While i was surprised that denver had to give up a 1st in that deal for plumlee i do get why they would value plumlee. His skill set fits so much better with jokic than nurkic did. I like nurkic but dude was pouting and is the type of center that is somewhat becoming obsolete so i get why interest in him across the league wasnt as high as we would think.
