Too similar to the current one IMO. I mean it does change the strategy somewhat but not in a way that I'd find interesting (although I'm not big on exceptions in general).

One idea I'd like to bring back after the playoffs is the one where you can pick anyone who played in 2017-18, and also any season of their career is available. So you could use peak Wade, Dirk, Kawhi, Vince, Dwight, etc. We did it before for either 2015-16 or 2016-17.

Ye I like that idea

Need to start something new if my 1980 on one isn't getting traction.

I like Laimbeer's traded players idea but it's hard to tell what people are actually interested in playing right now.

One on One Frustration draft. :o
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Those games were already pretty fast - what about a 3 Degrees of One on One draft and ABABABAB? Maybe the first two picks are free so to give the first pick not too big of an advantage.

Sorry, I meant 3 degrees (player chosen must share a franchise with opponent's last pick) in a one on one format.

How about a game where a player could be picked more than once, so long as a different franchise is used? Not sure how many guys would be in play, though.

All recent draft games ideas have been updated to the first post. Nothing really stands out to me at the moment personally...in any case nearly 100 ideas overall!

Stair step is almost over.

What do you blokes think about doing a variation of Upside Down or Declining Percentages again? Those are next level strategy.

I think Upside Down would be the most fun, we only did it once like 5 months ago.

I'd be interested in revisiting Upside Down and Batman/Robin

Maybe tweak the time frame for Upside Down since you both mentioned it? Combine it with Fade's idea and make the pool players who played in 2018, but you can use any season?

I suggested it a long time ago but never played it, but any interest in a Total Wins game instead of a FGA limit - say you have to keep your team under 250 wins total. This would make drafting a player from a 60 W team about the equivalent of 20 FGA in 85 FGA draft

Maybe let everyone take a break for another week and then do a new one?

A break is an excellent idea, think everybody needs it.

For now, i've locked the three open(ish) sign-up threads. When a new game is ready to be started, we'll start from scratch.

In the future, please pitch any ideas here and garner interest prior to starting a sign-up thread, that way we can avoid having the same problems.

See y'all in a bit, i'll be around obviously :D

This polled well in Dr P's last one. I'm not crazy about two free picks as it allows you to build the backbone of your team outside the spirit of the game. Maybe if the person picking second named a franchise for the opponent's first pick or could put some kind of restriction on it? Or is that still a big advantage for the first pick?

Also like Fade's idea of 2017-18 players yet you can use any season. My guess is our next game will be in the 8 player range and this would keep things from being too deep in talent and there seems to be a lot of interest in the players who have blossomed this season.

I think that's fine, and could work better than randomizing the franchise for the first pick which could still lead to some imbalanced games by luck
