AB til death. I don't mind Hood either. Neither will probably be as good as we dreamed of them being but they are generally likeable players who indeed are able to provide some scoring and shooting.

So...we're essentially looking to roll out the same roster every year. I like Alec and Hood as much as the next guy but it's time to move on. And that goes for some players on the current roster as well.

For me, the difference with Hood and Burks is that we actually need what they provide. If we don’t sign them, we need guys like them.

Bledsoe already off the board, and further securing that Middleton and Brogdon will be off the board. He took a big discount.

Yep. He could have gotten more money in free agency, probably at least 2.5M per year more. But he gets to compete with an up and coming team and he obviously likes it there. Good moves for both sides.

The problem with Hood and Burks is they couldn't provide scoring that we needed at a reasonably consistent rate. With Hood's regular health issues, it only compounded his consistency issues.

This team already struggles with consistent scoring, they don't help with that at all. We need consistent scoring. Neither one provides it, despite their skill set (which in theory we could use).

Is Bogdanovic from the Pacers good enough to offer big money ? A euro shouldn't rebuff Utah as a location.

RealGM article saying we could revisit Conley talks. Exum injury aside, I’m higher on Conley than I was at the deadline. Offensively, I think he’d be a major upgrade. We’d be replacing one of the worst pick and roll scorers in the league with one of the best. That’s obviously very important for a pick and roll dominant team. It would allow us to shift over some more DM and Ingles PnR possessions to spot ups, which they are great at.

Conley should be plan D if everything else falls through.
Ingles is cooked.

Am I the only one who thinks we need to upgrade on the sf spot?
I dont think Ingles is good enough to be our full time starter even though Im a huge fan.

We need more than the roughly 10 ppg he gives us. He would be awesome off the bench and spot starts.

Ingles averages 11.7 ppg. Notwithstanding his unfortunate drop in three point percentage this season, Ingles is continuing to become a more well rounded player. He has increased his assists per game again this season and is scoring more points at the rim. He is ranked number four in RPM for small forwards.

I suspect that his drop off on three point percentage could partially be related to fatigue in a season where he hasn't missed a game and has been relied on more often as a PG, especially for those games where Rubio, Exum and Neto were all out. It would be nice if we could rest Joe for a couple of the remaining regular season games before the playoffs, but he is usually too darn valuable to rest imo.

I think I would be more interested in upgrading Rubio than Ingles if better players became available at both positions.

I'm still a no on a Conley trade, unless we are the ones getting assets for taking on his contract. We should look for a long-term solution and not a short-term band-aid, which is what Conley is.

I am not attached to a PG, we need a perimeter player. We have the versatility to add any perimeter position and make it work.

However, Ingles is clearly one of the best players on the team and is incredibly value. There’s a reason why he’s the +/- god on this team. Every lineup needs him.

I agree we need more scoring, but Ingles is invaluable. Have to have him.

In a vacuum I do not agree and I do think Ingles is plenty good to be starting for a contender... the problem is that on our team specifically he's occupying a spot along with 3 other offensive non-threats(Rubio, Favors, Gobert). We have severe lack of offensive creation and he is not part of the solution for that problem. We essentially have 1 single player that can create a relatively good shot on his own and that's Mitchell. This is not enough.

So what are the solutions?

Gobert is irreplaceable. Scratch improving the offensive creation from the 5 spot
Mitchell is irreplaceable. Scratch improving the offensive creation from one of the guard spots.

We are left with improving either at the 3, the 4 or the other guard spot. Notice that I am not pegging it as "the 1" because I think Mitchell is good enough to give us versatility in what we look for in the second guard. We can get a PG-type(Conley) or we can get more of a secondary ballhandler type(Middleton?) and I think both would fit great with Mitchell.

IMO if you improve the offensive creation from either the guard or the 4 spot(or both) Ingles would actually fit pretty well with this team. This is my preferred solution here. But if you get a great 3 I won't beef with it. I'm just going to move Ingles to the other forward/wing spot. This is why I am loving the potential of either Reddish or Little falling in the draft and us taking a shot at one of them(this is a pipe dream at the moment). Both are 3s and I think if you develop them well both have the potential to be good for this team.

We need another ball handler who can also spot up and shoot. Ingles does both (though he can’t score out of PnR). Here are some names based on Synergy play type percentiles.

Mike Conley: 81.3% PnR, 75.3% spot up

D’Angelo Russell: 66% PnR, 71.6% spot up

Spencer Dinwiddie: 84.7% PnR, 85.1% spot up

Terrance Ross: 91.8% PnR, 92.3% spot up

Tobias Harris: 85.0% PnR, 95.5% spot up

Danilo Gallinari: 94.6% PnR, 88.3% spot up

Bojan Bogdanovic: 89.5% PnR, 88.9% spot up

Jeremy Lamb: 71.1% PnR, 57.8% spot up

How much would you give Bojan? I heard some podcast say "he's getting into that Tobias Harris range" and I cringed but... seriously? Would you give him 20-25M?

I would not. Instead I would try to go for Lamb or Ross at 10-15M or try to trade for Gallo.

If we are giving them 15M and eliminating the option of going after anyone else I would rather give a bit more to Bojan to be fair.

Gallo is weird. I like him but damn... I don't know if I will ever feel good about his health.

I suppose, but it depends on the years. Money doesn’t matter now, but we will feel it after two years.

I think we actually have $15M if we keep one of Favors/Rubio.

I think Conley would be a good addition to the team, but I don't know how much you want to give for that opportunity. But on the same hand people tend to value first round picks at a high level, and even more so on draft night. I could see the asking price go down come draft night if the right player falls to our draft pick.
