Knicks need to go after Donovan Mitchell

DSJ as well. A lot of people thought he'd have a great year due to a couple of offseason videos.

The Knicks are a joke to these star players. Wasn't Donovan laughing because we didn't get a higher pick? I didn't really check into that but given the draft odds I don't think people expected us to get the top pick, so not sure why he was laughing at the Knicks fans over that?

For the Knicks to sign any of these top tier players:
1) Our players develop into decent enough and we make smart FA signings to become a winning situation a star would consider joining
2) Have an empty roster with free cap space that a star would consider joining with another star or two - superfriends superteam
3) Disgruntled team, disgruntled star trade

Don't want #3 again (Melo). #1 sounds nice but our roster is a wasteland right now besides RJ & Mitch so tough to imagine us waiting for this to happen. #2 is the quick way but I don't see FA's coming that seem they are "superfriends" type. Yes, we're screwed. They'll just overpay a mid-level guy like VanVleet who we will need to attach picks to get rid of later

Donovan Mitchell laughing seemed like he's still bitter we didn't draft him over Frank. He was a hometown talent so I can't really blame him if he took it personal. Family/friends are probably Knicks fans too so that just adds to it.
