Classic good stats on a bad team guy. Fire Danny.

I wonder how Grant's game would change with Yam's body fat %.

I knew the FIBA 3pt line was farther out than the NCAA and less than the NBA, but I never realized that women shoot it from farther out in the NCAA than the men do: https://www.fiba.basketball/rule-differences

Don't know what Yam's body fat percentage is, but Grant's measured a very respectable 5.4% at his draft combine. I don't imagine it's changed much after a couple of NBA seasons. Do you have other information?

Can anyone please post what he averaged the year before?

Yam “The Asset” Madar may be Danny’s last gift to this franchise.

Yeah, I don’t see Grant as being overweight like his two predecessors were in Sullinger and Yabusele. He’s just not as talented as Sully and not as charismatically charming like Yabu. Which is to say, he doesn’t offer much :D

Madar's stats the year before in 2019-2020:

10.1 PPG
3.4 APG
1.0 SPG
44.4% FG, 26.7% from 3, 81.2% FT

Crazy improvement he made this past season. Clearly the dude was on a mission to work on his game and prove he can play in the NBA.

Yam is piquing some interest. I wonder if Coach Udoka has had a chance to check him out. He looks ready to plug and play to me.

Honestly, most interesting things for me with Yam seem to be his speed and floater game. Very, very encouraging to see him around the basket and fishing like he does.

We’ll see how the three ball translates for him. Obviously two bad pro seasons shooting the ball at a young age isn’t an immediate indicator for concern. Jaylen at Cal was considered a non-shooter and even Tatum with Duke was meh and they’re both money in the NBA.

There’s a summer league this year, right? Would love to see him come over.

Apparently, Yam sued his team in February to get out of his contract. Yam says the contract expired after this season ended, the team says it expires next year and says there is a $700,000 buyout. Yam and the team will be going to arbitration. I believe Yam has said that his goal is to play in the NBA, and he said being drafted by Boston was "indescribable." Will we see him any time soon? I guess that all depends on the arbitration results, and Boston's desire to bring him over sooner rather than later. If it was up to Yam, I'm pretty sure he wants to be here. Hoping we get to see him in Summer League at least.

The shot looks good and he shot 40+% this year from 3. The 2 years of 80+% free throw shooting is also encouraging.

He’s got all the tools you really want to see from a lead guard. Floaters, mid-range, passes with both hands, can put the defender on his back high ball screens and dictate.

He also seems to have decent measurable and gets after it defensively.

Take a look at the difference in Grant picks from the draft and this past season. He's at least on the Sully trajectory. And yeah, not much Yabu cuteness! :P

Don't agree at all. His weight listed at the combine was 235lbs. He is listed at 236lbs at several sites. I just Googled images for Grant, and cannot see any photos where he looks fat or on a "Sully trajectory." Here is a highlight video from this past season. Doesn't look like he is struggling with his weight to me.

Yeah. The floaters, the way he hits 3's off the dribble, some of the passes he makes off the PnR. The quickness and way he moves on the court, always keeping his head up when dribbling and seeing the whole floor well. Some of the nifty/fancy finishes he makes at the rim, the handle. Seeing some similarities to Trae Young - except Madar is 2 years younger and 2 inches taller.

We should really try to do everything we can to develop him and maximize his potential.

Yeah and you gotta think that Madar is going to be even more motivated to get over here and into summer league after hearing about us trading Kemba..

I'd be totally fine with trying out our team with Smart, Pritch & Yam at the point. See what goes well, what goes bad and then make some trade deadline deals to make the team ready for the play-offs.
