Not a bad option at all. If we take our big swing, and I only think we'll get one with Melo, a wing who can play elite defense is the way I'd go.

I hope we don't have to take any risky big swings because we landed Victor Wembanyama.

That said I keep telling myself that the statistically most likely outcome is that we'll end up with the 6th pick. Hope is a fickle thing though, especially if you've followed the Hornets/Bobcats for any length of time. But damn if it doesn't rear its head everytime leading up to the lottery.

Depends how you want to look at it. We have a 48% to land a top 4 pick vs sub 26% for the 6th spot.

Houston has a 48% at the 5th pick, which is by far the highest for any one pick and they were the worst team.

Houston probably isn't moving him unless you give them a top 5 pick, something I would not be willing to give a guy that hasn't delivered much through 2 years.

I still think there are guys that I would rather take swings on that impact winning players day 1, but still have high upside. Jalen Green cares about Jalen Green getting numbers. Maybe he has a few Beal years late in his career, but I feel pretty confident he isn't a guy that is going to carry you in the playoffs.

I would put his value around picks 8-10 in this draft. I think anyone dealing a top 5 would be foolish based on his early body of work.

Call me crazy but I'd go after Brooks. Sure, he's not that good, but we have zero players with "**** you" attitude on this team. I guess nuMiles might. But LaMelo, Terry, PJ, Gordon, and Mark are nice, easy going personalities who you don't even take seriously when they talk trash. We need a Jimmy Butler type to kick our guys in the asses

Seems like a move just to make a move.

PJ always seems to play well down the stretch and I have seen Miles get mad and start talking his s***

Guess we hope a possible core of DSJ, Cody, Miles, PJ, and Mark can grow into a solid group of defenders... enough to carry our offense only guys. Those 5 all have potential to be above avg to well above avg defensively. Cliff needs to work his magic like he was doing at end of year... while figuring out the offense.

I remember someone kept bringing up Dante Exum before, he's had an excellent season in Europe and is a good point of attack defender. still only 27 years old

His Dad played at UNC with Jordan. Always wondered why we haven't shown interest in him, but maybe we have?

Yeah, I'd sign Brooks as a 1-1 Oubre replacement.

Brooks ranked 120/123 qualified players in EFG% this season. Then played even worse in the playoffs.

If we sign Brooks it will be Lance Stephenson all over again. I hope we aren't that stupid.

And speaking of that:

I have a Draft Database that evaluates picks from 1996-2019, I could post some fun stuff about our upcoming picks, revisit the Denver trade and also tell us which pick we want if not #1 simply based on what the data says. Let me know if you guys are interested or if this would cause too much PTSD from Duren trade haha.

Whats up guys. Coming here in peace

What do you all anticipate the FO is going to do with Washington? It sounds like Bridges is coming back, and baring the move up to 1 or 2, looks like a lot of the best options are wing/forwards.

Do you see the front office bringing him back, or potentially looking at getting some value back in a S&T?

I think it depends what PJ's number is. If they can get him on a deal sub $15 million per season they keep him or match that offer sheet.

Anything over that and they'll angle for a sign and trade or let him walk as a last resort.

My number would be around $17M or $18M. I suspect the front office's number is a bit higher given they traded McDaniels rather than extending him, which is a clear vote of confidence in PJ.

I do think it depends on how the draft and the Miles Bridges situation shakes out. If we are fortunate enough to land Wembanyama (or another PF), I think that PJ number is quite a bit lower, and chance of a S&T is much higher.

I think you should brace for 20m a year, because the front office is definitely capable of giving him 22-25m a year and I worry that will be the case

Well this is the weeks guys where we'll find out what the future of the franchise will look like. If we get lucky with Wemba it should set us up nicely for years to come, and if we get Scoot we'll have a nice 2 guard combo that'll be exciting. I just don't want the Thompson twins I just see MKG again
