They might. He was a scapegoat from the beginning, so he was disposable. Besides, he has a cushy job waiting for him in either the Lakers FO (if Luka allows it) or the league FO.

The worst part about this is when people give Dumont a pass when Nico is inevitably fired. Adam Silver has defended Dumont vigorously twice now since the trade. The Mavericks are screwed long after Nico is gone.

The best part about this entire situation is people really dont think the fix was in to make LA relavent with the corpse of Lebron and a hobbled AD. This "trade" pretty much gets LA out of a rebuild situation for the foreseeable future.

Great timing as well with PHX and naturally Dallas dismantling their rosters so the west will get weaker. Denver is near possible rebuild mode too and D-Mitch is no longer on the west.

AD/NOLA trade 2.0 and magically the Lakers are looking VERY competitive in the west with the recent phantom implosions of all the promising teams from the last few years.

The Lakers are too big to fail and the NBA is worse off for it for basketball purists.

That's something that Dumont and Nico need to have done along with Silver.

Pure BS and quite frankly this is the type of nonsense that you'd see from a bunch of arrogant pricks.
