LMAOOOOOOO
Sobering reality hit more than anything. Amazing cameos by both Gittens and Estevao, completely changed the game. Lavia as well. Caicedo titanic, as he is every week.
That was MY life without Trevoh Chalobah in it for 90 minutes. His evil eye from the stands must have been working overtime because it took down Badiashile and Acheampong in one fell swoop. Sadly this means the worst centre back in the history of the sport will be starting with total immunity again until seasons end (at least until the next inevitable red card).
Still, always nice to humble the filthy dippers.
Chelsea!
I watched the whole game, and thought that Caicedo was imperious for the full 90. Is it fair to say that Estevao is the brightest talent currently at the club? He looks a cut above.
I still think there are some PNP (pace+power) limitations with Estevao, but he's dispelling my criticisms more and more with every passing week. His technical ability doesn't need any complimenting but it's his ability to create space, dribble past players & ride challenges that has impressed me. I've still never really completely forgiven Clearlake for bottling Olise in consecutive summer transfer windows, but he seems to be one of the next best things of that profile. Exciting to imagine what the player looks like at 21-22 years of age considering this is his base form as an 18 year old straight from Brazil. If he's able to find ways to create space in the 18Y box to get his shots off consistently then he'll be a marquee winger.
In terms of the brightest talents at the club he has to be either top or second to Palmer. We have another left footed RW coming next season wearing the #7 for Sporting, Geovany Quenda. Physically he reminds me a lot of Nuno Mendes but he also sort of plays like a watered Olise. Left foot constantly looking to cut in and play passes. I wish he'd tap into his 1v1 creative bag a bit more. Scored an amazing solo goal in the UCL last week.
Both should be pushing Pedro Neto out of the club as soon as next season. Appreciate his work rate, but he's far too limited besides running with his head down at max sprint.
