Just how he is. Probably the best shooter in college, but he doesn't get rebounds, blocks, steals, or assists. If he weren't 6'8, I would ignore him, but good size combined with elite shooting is valuable.

I’m starting to think Wagler’s lack of explosive athleticism won’t be a problem for him because his IQ and and skill package is so good. His ability to draw FTs raises his floor big time.

Re: 2026 NBA Draft thread
It probably won't unless Wagler is the primary initiator. If he's just a big guard that plays a complementary role, he'll be fine.

This Christian Andersen kid from Texas Texh can really shoot and score. 28 tonight.

I’ve never been worried about his athleticism offensively. I have serious concerns that he can defend NBA guards.

Re: 2026 NBA Draft thread
I'm having a hard time deciding who would be better for us between Yaxel and Cenac. Yaxel seems to be the more refined/NBA-ready player, but both project to have atleast some capability to shoot the 3.
I'm still hopeful that we've had early talks with Coby about signing somewhat of a team-friendly deal, because if we get the Portland pick this year, it would be amazing if we could run it back with the same guards and draft both Yax and Cenac.

Re: 2026 NBA Draft thread
Cenac has a long way to go. He’s strong but is at least a season away from contributing as a rotation player.
Yaxel is a hard read. Seems like he looks the part but his stats don’t show it. Don’t see him taking over games either.
I’d pass on both of them.

With our current roster, and contracts that we have on the books for next season (or lack thereof), I don't think we can have enough bigs.
It's basically just Jalen and Essengue, who we shouldn't expect to be more than a backup PF at best right now.
It's not even really that we "need" both, I just want to maximize our chances of finding a long-term big who can space the floor similar to how Vuc and Jalen have been doing, which is a big reason why our offense has been thriving over the past year.

Texas Tech vs. Houston
Flemings vs Anderson. Should be a great matchup.

Keaton Wagler has 19 pts in the first 10 minutes against #4 Purdue.

Re: 2026 NBA Draft thread
This draft has so many amazing prospects at the top. We need as many ping pong balls as we can get. The Bulls have 7 expiring contracts, if we don't make a move. That would be gross negligence.
AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.

Went for 46. 9-11 from 3 is crazy.
