Can’t even blame the kid. Yankees didn’t want to pay for pitching depth. Hal with the fake hustle.

I'm not mad at a double header split but we can still come back

Warren has some good stuff but he needs to learn to put it together. Still needs another year in the minors i think

Absolutely stupid for this organization to experiment with an unproven minor league starting pitcher in the middle of a pennant race. They really deserved to get humiliated by the awful Anaheim Angels because of this.

It's August and we're wheeling out there a kid who isn't ready to pitch to MLBers, what's the worst that can happen?

Yeah, it was a terrible move.

If I could ask Brian Cashman one question it would be: What is your admiration for baseball players who've had short term success with the Yankees?

Nestor
Holmes
Kahnle
Trevino
Hicks
Rizzo
Bird

All the players on this list were guys that Cashman decided to commit long term to despite a very small sample size of Yankee success. I recognize that nobody predicted the Rizzo concussion, but I found it rather stupid to give a guy his age a multi year contract even though there were better options on the market.

The other guys on this list had somewhere between half and a full season of success, but Cashman foolishly kept them on board for more than 2 years after their career year. So it doesn't surprise me to watch a guy like Nestor completely get shelled, given that he should not have been starting games after his 2022 second half decline.

Yeah it's bad. On the bright side, we do have some nice young pieces that I would love to see grow around Judge and Soto. The problem is that Brian has so much money tied up in guys who are straight up ass that Hal is gonna fold once Cohen shows him who the new daddy in town is

I don't think Hal even cares if the Yankees become second rate to the Mets as long as the money continues to come in.

I just saw our record with Nestor starting

He needs to be demoted.

I know we're not gonna win every game and odds are against you sweeping a double header but you need some one who is gonna give you a chance to win. Nestor needs to go to the pen.

Nestor could have a role as a long man out of the pen he sure as hell shouldn't be in the rotation.

I guess Cashman can relate a lot to Nestor and other guys on this roster because like them he is riding on past success.

I don't trust either Nestor or Stro right now tbh. Stro has been getting ass blasted too

The playoffs are gonna be rough

Yeah. Not good.

So much money is tied into trash. Like if this were my money I would have to fight Brian on the street.

Hal on the other hand?

Entering Saturday, after Friday’s series opener against the Rangers was postponed by rain, Stanton was batting 5-for-26 (.192) with a .491 OPS and two doubles in seven games (six starts) since missing five weeks on the injured list with a hamstring strain and not going on a rehab assignment before being activated. He's such a waste. Bite the bullet eat his contract and get a serviceable bat in the lineup. He clogs up the DH position offering no value.

Only Cashman would trade for an injury prone DH that has a 10 year contract with a full no trade clause.

Austin Wells has been doing a really good job as a cleanup hitter. I feel like he’s been solid when guys are on base in front of him.

I guess with Rice having his 15 minutes of fame it's time to send him back down to the minors.

With a lefty on the mound, the Yankees have a 30% chance of winning this game.
