Of course you have. Now you need to root against teams from North America, South America and Central America. Lithuania will probably play in one of Olympic qualifying tournaments, too.

Probably not

Unless our completely underfunded program can win a bid to host one of the tourneys.

More than likely we'll be playing in Europe or Asia,
90% of our NBA guys won't play, they'll lose and we'll be sad.

Its pretty safe to say the golden generation idea is dead. We're never going to see our high level talent play together in an Olympic or even a meaningful game

It is an strange case there. Brazdeikis used to play for Canada's youth teams. And now he asks for a Lithuanian passport. Let's hope our federation will make it happen.

Mattd97 wrote:I didnt say rupture an acl. I said play for that country then. How's that salty? Weve got enough guys who say they want to play for Canada (even from immigrant families, gasp) and dont show up. He says he doesn't want to play for Canada- or be Canadian- and doesnt show up, so why fight over his rights. As I said, take him.

I wouldnt count on it.

Why is this guy still here? This is the equivalence of an opposing NBA team fan coming on to the Raptors board after beating the raps and saying how they wouldnt count on us making the playoffs. Like damn, let the corpse cool before you start poking it.

I feel so bad for the guys that always show-up for Canada. I mean, Melvin Ejim missed the birth of his second son to play for what ended up being nothing. He didn't have to do that. He doesn't need to showcase himself as he's career is pretty comfortable in Europe now. He just put playing for your country above everything else. I have 2 young kids myself and I will never forgive myself if I missed the moment they were born. I know Melvin saw it live on FaceTime but its not the same. He doesn't get to hold his baby until a week from now. Kevin Pangos is also expecting their first born soon and in my experience that last month before the expected date is so nerve racking (my second kid was born 2 weeks early).

Lol take it easy. It was probably pre mature to call this the golden generation but this is still just scratching the surface.

It sucks as we were all hoping to make some noise this yr but we will be back and better.

Its inevitable.

Well, in Canada's case there is nothing to be upset about. Lithuania and Australia were clear favourites of the group and the gap between those teams and Canada is pretty big.

USA on the other hand is struggling vs tier 3 teams.

Bruno with the key tap off the rim to preserve the win for Brazil. Raptor fans may cringe, but Bruno, if he shows further growth in his game with Memphis, might be an interesting free agent target for Masai. The free agent class is so pitiful, and he still has strong ties to Toronto and Masai.

I believe Bruno still spends parts of his offseason in Toronto too and his son is born here. Though if he does breakout this season, I would think Loyalty comes first, but with JJJ and JV and Clarke, perhaps Memphis might have other plans...i can't believe i'm saying this right now about Bruno LOL

I enjoy being able to hear the refs talk when they do video review. Way more entertaining than waiting for over 5 mins for a result. And the FIBA video review only lasts for like 15 seconds.
