Re: Lottery Tracker
The Blazers have 3 more losses than Phoenix & Utah and 3 less losses than the Wolves & 4 less losses than the Warriors. I think the Blazers are locked into the #11 spot in the West.
The Blazers have 3 more losses than New York and 4 more losses than Philly. I don't see those teams finishing worse than the Blazers. The Milwaukee Bucks are probably the only team from the east that could alter the Blazers draft position. The Blazers currently have one more loss than the Bucks, but the Bucks should probably finish a little better than the Blazers and the Bucks own the tie-breaker so if the two teams tie, the Blazers would get the better pick.
I think the Blazers pick 11th in the draft. The nets pick might fluctate a little up or down, but probably not much from the 7th pick.

Yep, #11 is pretty locked up. Orlando got the #1 pick on lottery night after being #11 pre-lottery.... So there's that.

It's not too bad because this is a solid draft. Lot of question marks. I think Perry Jones could be a great player that the Blazers could pick up at 7. I'm not a huge fan of Terrance Jones' NBA game but he'd be a solid pickup at 11. If Marshall is available at 11 (depending how his workouts go after wrist injury). It's not the best the Blazers could've had but they'll make it work.

Re: Lottery Tracker
There's still so much up in the air until the ping-pong balls drop that it's really tough to judge who the Blazers could/should draft.
It'll be interesting to see what the post-lottery positioning. There could be a chance for the Blazers to combine their picks and move up if they stay at 7 and 11.
NBADraft.net did a recent mock draft after the Hoops Summit and too into consideration each teams needs. Their early projections have Sullinger falling pretty far. They have him getting picked at #10, but their paragraph about him says the popular opinion is him falling out of the Top 14.

Why? Is it because of health concerns?
Maybe I am a little high on him, but I feel he is easily one of the most NBA ready players. He had good production on a good team in college... why would he drop out of the top 10?

They didn't elaborate why.
I really like Sullinger too. I think he's got some of the best rebounding instincts this side of Anthony Davis in the draft.
If I had to guess, I'd say that experts are a little worried about his size on the NBA level. With his weight, he might be a bit slow on the defensive end against the more athletic PF's, but he doesn't really have enough height for the 6-11 to 7ft C's of the NBA.

Re: Lottery Tracker
Well, get ready for Sullinger to become the next Blaire then.
Assuming he stays healthy, he will be a steal for whomever drafts him in the late 1st round. Sure he has a limited ceiling (any idea on standing reach? that is the best measurement to see if he is undersized at center), but I think he will have a bigger impact than most of the other lottery picks.

What's wrong with Perry Jones? Great player if he can be motivated.

Re: Lottery Tracker
no to sullinger he doesnt fit the need of a great defensive "center", and definately no to perry jones we dont need a big who thinks hes a guard
id rather pull a minnisoda and draft both lillard and marshall with our picks than end up with sullinger and jones
honestly the more i look at this draft the more i think its not all that top heavy, it might be deeper but talent wise doesnt seem to be any better than the last couple years

He's probably the 2nd most talented player in the draft after Davis. How much of his underwhelming play is due to his motor and how much is due to Baylor's horrible PG plays is kind of an unknown. With the 2nd lotto pick I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him, he has franchise potential but also a high bust likelihood. But then we'll never get anywhere making "safe" picks like Nolan Smith.

I read that one GM, I think it was in Marc Spears' mock draft, said he had no heart. Kinda reminds me of the reviews of Rudy Gay coming out of college, tbh.

Re: Lottery Tracker
I didn't get the memo that we had to have a defensive center first and foremost. But if that's the case there are options. Like John Henson, a great rebounder and shot blocker and beanpole skinny. I'd be happy with Henson or Sullinger, they bring very different games, but both would help.
As far as Perry Jones goes, I couldn't disagree more with the post a couple above me. His strengths are that he's long and athletic. He's raw, not talented, and I don't think he'll ever be a starter quality NBA player.

Nolan Smith wasn't a safe pick, he was a bad pick

Re: Lottery Tracker
As good as the Nets are playing to end this season, that pick could drop all the way to 9. The silver lining in that being the chances that the Nets get lucky in the lotto go down considerably, but so does the value of the pick...

I think Nets pick would be 7th and ours 11th, not bad.

Re: Lottery Tracker
I do think that might be their last game they win for they have to play Boston,
New York, Miami, Milwaukee and Philly again. They do have one winnable game
but that's on the road against Toronto and most home teams find a way to win
their last home game. Detroit who they are tied with has multiple winnable
games against Cleveland, Toronto and the crappy T-Wolves.

He plays without a pulse. He's soft, doesn't take advantage of his physical gifts. He's Josh Smith without the shot blocking. Has nothing to do with his Guards at Baylor, this was the book on him as a High School prospect as well. Everything about the guy screams bust.
