Gordon had 49 yards in the 1st quarter and zero in the 4th quarter. :o

But this is a typical Badgers season. Finish really strong after messing up national title chances with early loss or two. Play SEC team in decent bowl, lose game. Rinse, Repeat.

Still a great accomplishment for Gordon and a big win today, no question.

this reminds me a lot of the big ten title game from 2 years ago when we introduced the jet sweep vs nebraska and rushed for close to 600 yards i think. for whatever reason we just own nebraska. i don't think pelini is a very good coach. wouldn't be surprised if he got fired

It's not unless they let it be like that mentally. They've been in every game the last 5 seasons or so, they've just choked in almost all their losses. It's not a matter of a talent discrepancy. The talent is there, especially with a team like this which features such a high percentage of in state kids. That's when they won the big bowls previously, and gotten there since legitimately, only to fall just short in crunch time. With starting the Wisconsin kid in Stave from the beginning, instead of fulfilling a recruiting promise to or favoring McEvoy, this might well be an undefeated team right now.

If I did my math right Gordon's 2nd and 3rd quarter would have been a top 10 rushing game.

I don't understand how you don't keep him out there to get 500+ if possible. I hope he was fine with that. Would have been huge for his draft status if he does that.

The guy set the NCAA record. Not sure how much more of a boost he would've got.

Running against Nebraska's backup defense is only going to risk injury. It's not going to help his draft stock (you seriously think scouts are going to think differently about him if he goes for 500 in 4 quarters instead of 408 in 3? ) and it's not going to help him in Heisman voting.

I wouldn't call Mark Davis a scout.

16-19 all fell today so badgers will at least move up 4 spots. Will be interesting if auburn drops past them this week.

This will be the case until they develop a QB who is a play maker rather than a game manager. GA realizes the importance of a play maker at the QB position and that will come. I absolutely love the way UW runs the 3-4 defense, expect that to be a staple even after Aranda leaves.

Just saw a graphic from Fox Sports on Twitter showing that Gordon's numbers are already far and away ahead of the last 3 Heisman winning RB's and we still have at least two more games to go. Can't post it from work but it's pretty incredible.

I've seen it a few times, but I'll post Gasser's tweet:

Russell Wilson wasn't a playmaker? Wisconsin still managed to choke in close games with him at the helm. Their tendency to lose in almost every close game they play is a collective, psychological problem developed over the last several years.

It's an absolute joke that Gordon isn't considered the Heisman front-runner right now. The trophy itself has become such a hype award in recent years.

Note to college voters: It isn't the NFL MVP.

Wins shouldn't factor in too heavily and it goes to the college player who is having the best overall season. But because Melvin doesn't play for Alabama or Georgia, odds are he'll lose out to the best player on a 12-1 SEC team... :nonono:

It's down to Mariota and Gordon now I think in most people's minds. I think Mariota wins but it'll be interesting.
