It's undeniable that Simmons has all the talent in the world but we've seen first hand what a talented unmotivated player looks like. You know who I'm talking about. I would be really concerned about trading for Simmons, especially after what happened unless it is a package involving Lowry, filler(Boucher?) and 1 future lottery protected FRP. That's my max.

This thread is TLDR but PLEASE dont trade #4 for Ben pretty please! I dont even want to trade Siakam or OG for him.

You’d think their delusion would’ve died by now after they were so convinced that George Hill was the better move at the deadline

I'm actually warming up to the idea of this a bit, I think it's possible that Simmons could essentially play center in a lineup of FVV + Suggs/Trent + OG + Boucher + Simmons. It potentially masks his biggest weakness by putting him on the floor with four 3 point shooters and the team should still be really good defensively.

Does anyone know what the guarantee date of George Hill's contract is? It might be possible for the Raptors to trade Siakam + Kyle for Simmons + Hill then decline Hill's money for 2021-2022. Even if it's possible I don't know if Philadelphia would want to take on that much money though as it would keep them in the luxury tax.

It’s crazy they actually think Simmons has significant value. If they think he’s even worth anything more than Siakam alone, they’ll be enjoying watching Simmons brick fest next postseason again

Nobody is crazy enough to give them a significant package for the most flawed player in the league

Other than possibly Thybulle they don't really have that many pieces that fit for us going forward.

Anyway you slice it, a Pascal/Simmons swap doesn't really benefit our team now as it would leave us with an even bigger glaring hole in regards to scoring and it takes the ball out the hands of both FVV and Suggs in the starting unit.

Holy ****. There is no way that fanbase is delusional enough to think that Lowry+Siakam+#4 (in a loaded draft) for Siakam is fair value for Simmons. #4 + Lowry alone is an overpay and they want us to throw in Siakam to "get out of his contract" just so we can be stuck paying an even more flawed player more money for an extra year.

They're obviously going to be asking for the #4 as well, and probably would look to flip that again for immediate help.
I think the Raps will (and should) balk at dealing the #4.

The point is, we are NOT trading Lowry, it is Lowry Signing a team. Lowry does not need us, but rather than us losing him for nothing, we need him.

Lowry needs us if he wants to get paid by a team like Philly. Not a lot, if any, high end playoff teams have cap space to give him the contract he'll be seeking. Unless he's prepared to take the MLE, he needs us to make a sign and trade work...

They’re smoking crack rocks.

This should be a straight up deal, nobody else needs to be included.

I would however settle for S&T Lowry with Siakim if Maxey or Matese comes back

We wouldn't even do a Pascal for Simmons straight swap let alone include assets.

Maybe FVV + Flynn + Hood (before he expires) + Future Pick?

JB7 wrote:With Pascal's name out there in trade rumors it would make sense that he is the one targeted by Philly.

With Raptors most likely drafting Suggs at 4, it would make sense to include Lowry in the deal (he gets paid, gets to go home and compete for a championship - his priorities probably in order).

For Philly, getting both Siakam and Lowry looks like a justified return for Simmons. They probably won't be able to resign Green (don't have his bird rights and can only offer what every other team can, MLE) so giving Lowry $20M will fit financially. Siakam also is able to replace a lot of what they would lose in moving Simmons (size, rebounding, defense, ball handling) not to the same level as Simmons, but at least PS can shoot, which means he can compliment Embiid.

For the Raptors, Simmons would most likely become the primary ball handler, surrounded with shooters (FVV, OG, GTJ) and another creator from the perimeter in Suggs, which would be the perfect fit for his game.

Question for the Raptors is because Simmons value has plunged so much, what does Philly need to add to that deal in terms of future prospects/picks?

But a future core of PF - Simmons (25), SF - OG (23), SG - GTJ (22) and PG - Suggs (19) looks pretty strong. And you have FVV as the vet to compliment this core.

Green font, yes?

Same problem - super high usage % for Pascal and Ben, players that don't know how to shoot a basketball.

I'm afraid I think we can only have one of them
