Why would houston do a sign and trade when they need to hit a floor and can sign him outright.

Would free up space for them to sign another player.

The problem is their only “big” contract is Kevin porter jr who is too good for them to trade away. Pretty much every one else is cheap and young.

Would be nice to grab garuba though…

That would be a good signing

2. Giannis is just a different dude. You can't compare the two situations.

There's valid points on both sides on whether or not to move on. Calling someone soft because they would do everything to keep the franchise's greatest player happy is kind of weird.

Lopez post is clearly a joke.

Living in fear for something that probably wouldn't happen is stupid. Specially now after he's been here for a decade and won the title. We'd obviously be a completely different team without him but I would have much more faith in this current version of the franchise succeeding than I would if I we were still the Herb Kohl Bucks.

I guess we will never agree on the chances of Giannis leaving. I don't think just cause he signed the last deal means he will sign again. I've talked to people in the Bucks organization that thought he was not going to sign that extension leading up to it. I think he was legitimately torn and internally changed his mind a few times. He's been here a decade but I wonder how many ties he actually has to the city/team. Basically no one besides midds from anywhere in the organization is still here from when he arrived. His kids haven't started school yet, he spends most of his time with his family.

Like I think he stays but I'm not taking it for granted. Main reason why I re-upped for season tickets despite young kids at home and prices getting jacked is who knows if this is one of the last times of a player of Giannis's caliber.

totally agree with all of this and now midds is back and expiring the same year giannis is and if thats not enough jrue says hes done that year too.

now is not the time to play chicken with giannis over his family ffs

But they have enough for brolo and FVV. Beyond that who would they want that is a better replacement than what they are giving up. They have too much cap space.

You spelled Delon Wright wrong

Doesn't shoot well enough and is older. Plus, he has started less games in more years than Morris. Morris could be a starter and move Jrue off the ball.

Wright is a career 40% 3 point shooter in the playoffs. Morris is not a playoff caliber player.

Because they want to give FVV a max contract and have guys on the roster they need to move (Kenyon Martin Jr, etc.)

First round qualifying offers and impending restricted free agency balloons your cap quicker than you’d think.

Have to imagine Brook would stay if the difference was only a couple of mil per year. Houston is not competing for a couple of years

I don’t disagree, just speculating on rationale.

The issue is Houston has 60 million in space. FVV turns them down what's stopping them from doing 60 million over 2 years?

Even though we haven't heard about it yet, I'm guessing Brook is considering sign and trade opportunities too. Memphis and New Orleans have been hinted at in recent days, and Dallas would make sense.

If the Bucks are willing to look past the Terrence Davis off the court stuff, I wonder if they'd also pursue Jaxson Hayes. Hayes had a ton of untapped potential, and would fits Griffins defense.

Gonna be real tough to get Brook and Crowder back while keeping access to the TPMLE. My guess is Crowder becomes a cap crunch casualty, depending on the legitimacy of Houston's offer.

I really don't know why they would bring Crowder back.

Considering the draft we just had, Carter, jingles gone, the plan is to get younger and more athletic. Khris is a no brainer; brings a skillset no one else has on this roster.

If you're talking about Thanasis...

a) He's quite handsome

b) It's been said a million times: it's the last spot on the bench. It doesn't matter. You're not going to replace him with someone who is going to contribute. In the meantime, he's Giannis' brother and everybody loves him. He's the heart of the team. That's worth something.
Paying a guy who really does not belong in the NBA. Would rather have a young guy to develop and give them garbage minutes. Also I am not into guy cheerleaders. ;)

Okay, talking myself into PJ Washington replacing Brook. Charlotte would almost certainly match the offer, though, right? 4/$55ish million?

Khris deal is so much better than I could’ve imagined.

Brook is no doubt stuck in the dilemma of money or contention.

Split it between Christain Wood and Donte.
