Will riot though if Brad Stevens doesn't win EotY.
EDIT: Me and Smitty see eye-to-eye here.
Don't agree, Joe should be top 3...it's ridiculous in an historic RS level performance in a RS award that he didn't. If integrating new players of quality was always easy the Bucks, Suns and Clippers should have dominated out of the gate.
It's fine that he didn't win it, but ridiculous he was not top 3 IMO.
The fact that Spo hasn’t won the award tells me the award is bogus. So I’m not that bothered about it. I did say I personally think Joe should be top 3. My guess is he still ended up top 5 (we’ll know for sure when they announce the winner).
Regular season award and Spoelstra teams have not been very impressive in the regular season other than the 66 win Lebron team. How you don't get 60 wins every season with Lebron-Wade-Bosh in the 2010s East if you are a top coach in the league.
Even his two impressive playoff runs post-Lebron have also been helped by stars getting injured (Giannis in 2020, Embiid in 2023, Kemba & Hayward in 2020, Tatum in 2023) and last year's unreal two-way shooting luck.
