Eddy Curry (Trade Kicker)
Roger Mason Jr
NY 1st round draft pick unprotected
Cash

for

Andrea Bargnani
David Andersen
Miami 1st

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=5737014

Knicks get much needed size, Italian star, shooting bigs with range, bigs in general. Both players work in run and gun system and are good shooters.
Raptors get expirings in Eddy Curry and Roger Mason Jr. EC may provide size in paint. Roger Mason Jr provides 3 point shooting Raptors have been lacking. Dump Bargnani's nasty contract.

Alternately:
Eddy Curry (Trade Kicker)
Raymond Felton
Roger Mason Jr
NY 1st round draft pick unprotected
Cash

for

Andrea Bargnani
Jose Calderon
David Andersen
Miami 1st

http://www.realgm.com/src_tradechecker/4/

Calderon for a true point guard to compliment the offensive weapons of the Knicks and to be pick and roll partner for Amar'e.

If Knicks can't get Melo, this is probably one of their best options.

Trade cannot occur before Dec 15 because players were signed this past offseason

Felton is better for Toronto as a pure scorer, and can add the scoring punch the Raptors need so badly. Jack can play as a 2, and Banks can get some pt.

Toronto trades: J Jack, Weems, Evans, Miami 1st round
Memphis trades: OJ Mayo, Thabeet

Memphis get some vets to boost their playoff push. Raps get younger as part of their rebuild. Reunite OJ and Derozan for the Cali connection.

I'd love to pair up DD and OJ (especially while his value seems to be a little lower right now), but I don't see us getting him without our pick. I think Jack+pick (+Alabi?) for Thabeet+Mayo might be workable, but then I'm not sure if it's worth it for us to give away our pick if we can potentially get a franchise PG or wing with it.

I doubt Memphis gives up Mayo for that little even with their cap issues. I've always been a huge fan of Mayo though. We'd probably need to give up Davis and the Miami 1st for Mayo + Thabeet

1. Draft Kyrie Irving to solve the PG void we've had since TJ and Jose left. He's both of them in one. Potentially a true franchise PG.

2. Hire a proper big man coach for Andrea.

3. Keep Triano. I don't see him being the problem with this team at all. It's the players. They're just not very good. Triano is a knowledgeable coach and is at least having the team play hard for him. I'd be honest if I felt Triano needed to go but this situation is more a result of the poor lineup than the coach. Even Jerry Sloan would not make this a winning club with this roster.

4. Go all out for Marc Gasol (RFA).

5. Sign Tayshaun Prince.

I think that is a pretty interesting situation,

If Utah is sitting on the edge of the playoffs come the trade deadline I could see them moving Okur for 10m of the TPE to save the tax, I would gladly accommodate them if Memphis' 2011 first-round pick (Top 14 Protected) and Utah's were in the mix.

They gave up Maynor to unload Harpring,
Perhaps they do something similar to unload salary this season?

Houston's got the right to swap picks with New York this year, and they've also got NY's pick the following year (protected).

Barbosa & evans for troy murphy. I think with Troy expiring, we should be far enough under the cap to offer a max deal. Thoughts????

Now that we have Peja, here is a possible deal (especially is Delfino keeps having concussion problems):

Toronto trades:
Peja, Barbosa

Toronto Receives
Redd, L. Sanders

Why for Mil
Redd might now play and let's them trade his contract for someone to contribute.
Barbosa gives them a veteran off the bench for the playoffs

Why for Tor
Redd is just an expiring but it also clears up Barbosa's contract for next year giving Raps more money to pursue free agents
L. Sanders is raw but could turn into a useful C down the road. If not, he is on a rookie salary.

Now maybe Peja, Sonny and Mia 1st (though I have read from Phi fans that they want a high draft pick AND a prospect for Iggy).

heres what i think is a decent idea.

TOR SENDS: Peja + Miami 1st
TOR GETS: Deng

DEN SENDS: Carmello
DEN GETS: Peja + Johnson + Gibson + Miami 1st + Chicago 1st + Charlotte 1st

CHI SENDS: Deng + Johnson + Gibson + Chicago 1st + Charlotte 1st
CHI GETS: Anthony

the Nuggets basically get a bunch of relief, picks, youth in the deal. Makes sense to me. I dont see them getting much better than that.

We get Deng (25) as our starting 3 the rest of the year.

We would then have to move Barbosa + Evans for a backup C (Collison (+ cook)/Foster/Dalembert or something)

i like the look of

Calderon / Bayless
Derozan / Weems
Deng / Klezia
Davis / Johnson
Bargnani / Collison

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Not really a fan of Deng, I think we can get more bang for our buck with someone else (for instance, I'd rather just try and land Jeff Green or Thaddeus Young in free agency...assuming we aren't drafting a wing). Deng has a rather poor 50% TS% this season, and is still owed a lot of money.

I think a previous poster had posted Peja back to the Kings for Dalembert; I like that one too. Also, wonder if we can make a play for Kaman and DeAndre Jordan. I am willing to give Derozan and Evans (LA needs some leadership for their youngteam; they have the talent) and TPE for those guys.

Not sure the Kings would give up Dalembert (their starting C) for Peja without incentive.
I don't think DeRozan is going anywhere, and I'm not so high on bringing in an almost 29 year old Kaman for big money this year and next. I like the idea of getting DeAndre on the cheap if we could, I think he has some decent upside as a backup C (although maybe we could just try and land him in free agency for a decent deal)

I know a lot of you don't want to win now and rather tank the season, but I can see Murphy doing a pretty good job for us.

We would love to fill our center spot, but finding a great center isn't easy. Now Murphy isn't a true center, but he is a guy who can rebound and play decent defense. Duo of Bargnani and Murphy should do OK on defense as they are both close to 7 foot tall, but on the offensive end, they will be nightmares for any team.

Think of two 7 footers who can both shoot the lights out. Bargnani now has a "decent" post up game, and Murphy's isn't too bad either.

Why would New Jersey do this trade? They aren't playing Murphy at all... The only value Murphy has to them is an expiring contract, and so does Punjabi. Punjabi only has a bigger expiring contract.

Punjabi's contract is $14,256,000, while Murphy's is $11,968,253.

Hey, if all goes wrong... we still have an expiring contract in Murphy.

I always thought Troy Murphy was what Bargnani should be: a 3 point shooting big man who actually has grit and can board. Cant believe NJ is sitting out Murphy. He deserves better than that.

I like it. Didn't realize Redd was expiring, what a terrible value for that contract. Hardly played, and when he did the team generally played worse.

Sanders is another guy like Bayless that I'm not crazy about, but I'd love to give a try why we're rebuilding. The truth is, even Barbosa & Peja for Redd isn't that bad...

^^ Wow I love that deal, I think Sanders is a solid talent with great athleticism and potential, he makes me think of a longer version of Amir. I think he's versatile enough to guard the 3/4/5. Not sure if Milwaukee would go for it, but I'd even swap Evans with Barbosa if that helped.

Bargs/Sanders/Alabi
Amir/Davis/Dorsey
Weems/Kleiza
DD/Barbosa
Jose/Bayless

That's a lot of solid young talent on our roster moving forward, and we'd still have two picks in the 2011 draft... we could easily move up or make trades for young prospects at positions of need.

Thunder Trade: Morris Peterson and Krstic
Thunder get: Dalembert and Evans

The Thunder get some serious rebounding help. They add shot blocking, muscle, and rebounds.

Kings trade: Dalembert
Kings get: Krstic and Barbosa

The Kings get back a serviceable enough center while adding a much needed third guard in Barbosa.

Raptors trade: Barbosa and Evans
Raptors get: Peterson + 6 mill trade exception

Raps ensure they get a high pick, guarantee minutes for Bayless and Ed Davis / Amir, and clear some cap space to maximize profits for this year.

-----

Dalembert, Collison
Ibaka, Green/Evans
Durant, Green
Harden, Thabo
Westbrook, Maynor

Krstic/Cousins
Landry, Thompson
Casspi, Greene
Evans/Barbosa
Udrih/Barbosa

Bargnani, (Amir)
Amir, Ed Davis, Dorsey
Kleiza, Peja
DD/Weems, Peterson
Jose, Bayless
