Still think Nelson is going to start at PG and Richardson is going to slide over to the SF position.
Nelson
Arenas
Richardson
Bass
Howard
Almost positive that's the new starting five. I want Hedo nowhere near the starting lineup. Have him come off the bench and run the second unit offense.

Re: Official: Arenas/Hedo/Jrich takin talents to central FLORIDA
It doesn't do anything for the 2012 cap situation.
I do think this trade can help guys. I'm not completely down here.
Gilbert Arenas might have a long-term deal but he can be a go-to guy for this team and light a fire under them too. This could be his re-birth. The risk here is that extra year on the contract but one well worth it as Rashard Lewis was clearly on the decline and this along with that contract truely made him a drag on this team as the Magic were looking at the 2nd highest paid player in this league coming off the bench. This trade takes that unpleasant situation away from this team.
J-Rich is a good slasher and will be good at the offensive end for this team.
Turkoglu can be good in the clutch situations. He can create his own shot too. I worry that his play is on the decline along with the contract but he could do what they need in maybe 20-25 mins a game.
Earl Clark is a wait and see. I do not think they picked up his option so he's not on the sweet rookie deal after this season.
Losses
Rashard Lewis- Mentioned it above.
Vince Carter: Meant to be a backup at the 2 at this stage of his career but we all prefer j.J. Redick in the role. J-Rich is definitely an upgrade over him.
Mickael Pietrus- I'll miss him but there was going to be no minutes for him.
Marcin Gortat and the first- This is my real big beef here. He was your best asset and it seems your blowing him to get Turkoglu who is on the decline while throwing in a 2011 first.
J-Rich for Carter is an upgrade but who knows if The Magic will want to tack on more salary and re-sign him.
I know this is for winning now guys. It's needed but I'm just really questioning whether this was the best use for sending Marcin Gortat Packing and throwing in the first.

Wow. I don't think any of us saw this big of a shakeup coming. Trading Rashard and Vince. Wow. I must say, I like the moves. Gil is incredibly risky, but Rashard really just hasn't been able to find it the past two years. We needed some changes.

My guess is that Dwight may have asked for him specifically in the so called meeting with SVG and Otis.
I think your right. This has Dwights blessing. Hedo was a fan favorite, but I believe he was also a favorite of his teammates.

OMagicDaily Orlando Magic Daily
The scary part is someone asked Otis if the press conference was today at 4. He jokingly(?) said 5. Very scary, like he was taunting us.

I like the trade and might even be on board Nelson coming off the bench. We need to add Anderson and Duhon to the Arenas deal to get Blatche.
Arenas, Nelson, Williams
J-Rich, Redick
Hedo, Clark, Q-Rich
Blatche, Bass
Howard, Allen, Orton

Overall, these trades are a big risk and I am not high on giving up Gortat with no big to replace him and the 2011 first.
So by losing Rashard and Vince contracts , that does not help us in 2012. Will be really pissed if Dwight leaves Orlando. In fact I will no longer be a Magic fan if Dwight leaves. Can't not go through losing another player for Shaq/Dwight caliber. Been a fan since day one, mom took me to that Magic/Pistons exhibition game back in '89 when I was six.
I don't think Dwight will stay anyways if Vince and Rashard were here.
There is no question had to be made here.
I'm just really questioning the Phoenix trade.

I can't wait to see Howard and Hedo together again. They had really good team chemistry and Dwight won't have to wait 4 seconds in the paint to catch the ball anymore.

Re: Official: Arenas/Hedo/Jrich takin talents to central FLORIDA
Lewis hasn't had the ability to make a difference in games the last 2 seasons. He was just there this year.
At least Arenas can win a game sometimes.
I know Hedo is not going to be that much of a difference maker, but he can still be effective during stretches of the game.
JRich is going to be a difference maker in comparison to Vince. At least his FG% will be up.

This trade is ridiculously lopsided in the Magic's favor.
First you get rid of Vince Carter who no team could win a championship with, and you replace him with an even better version of him in J-Rich.
Now you get Hedo back who should revert back to his old self.
And Arenas will be more of a star than Carter was for the Magic.

Re: Official: Arenas/Hedo/Jrich takin talents to central FLORIDA
There is no reason why this should not INSPIRE the Magic to win!
Gil is changing scenery, and will have a chance to restart fresh, and he has his mentor Otis Smith as the GM
J-Rich is reuniting with his old teammate, Arenas, and will work well playing off of him and Howard
We have to go-to perimeter scorers now (Arenas and JRich), which is key for situations where the Magic's offense becomes stagnant
Hedo retains his old Point-Forward role, to run high PNR with, and his size is a plus at the wing, and his passing will be needed as well, to alleviate Arenas and Nelson from point duties
Bass and Howard are our future frontcourt, and their strength, dominance, defense, and hustle will be key down the stretch
Nelson being moved to the bench is amazing, because our 2nd unit will have a proven starter quality PG running the show to make sure we keep the lead (and not lose ground on opponents)
Also, having the option to go small with offensive firepower in close situations to close out games is great to have
-Nelson
-Arenas
-Richardson
-Hedo
-Dwight
I like this trade... maybe find another trade in the next few weeks to unload Duhon for another backup C or PF

I would think it'd be a mistake by anyone to think that we're getting the old Hedo back. Before Hedo left us, he was being relied upon as our main scoring option... especially in the clutch. This time around, he won't be. He may be the 4th option behind Arenas, Richardson and Dwight. His role will be entirely different...but the main thing I liked about his game was his passing and efficiency. Those 2 things shouldn't change.
Richardson really isn't an option. He doesn't get many plays run for him. He not much of a ball handler. He really is an athletic spot up guy. I expect the ball is still going to end up in Hedo's hands a lot because he is easily the best PNR player on the team now.
When you have Steve Nash at PG, you don't need others to run plays on their own. Doesn't mean they don't have the capability.
You're right about Hedo's PNR ability though. That's why he needs to start at SF.
