I'm not hating here, but does Dallas have a perimeter defender or two who can stay in front of LeBron and Wade?

During the first 41 minutes, LeBron and Wade had their way in transition against Dallas.

I also wonder if Dallas can establish more of a half-court pace to take away Miami's fast break and punish the Heat in the low blocks?

we do, his name is Caron Butler. really sad he couldn't play this series. he held lebron to his lowest fg pct all season.

but brewer and stevenson can both hang with them imo, but they are too much of a liability on the offense to get long minutes on the floor.

marion and deshawn on those two all game would be the most ideal situation.

If Brewer and Stevenson are too much of a liability on the offense to get long minutes on the floor, then what is Peja??? This guy has sucked for 3 weeks now.

JJ is ineffective as well. At least DS is hitting threes. Brewer is long and quick enough to drive to the hoop.

Minutes for Game 3 should be:

Kidd - 36, Barea - 12
DS - 14, Terry - 34
Marion - 40, Brewer - 8
Dirk - 40, Peja - 6
Chandler - 34, Haywood -14

I figured as much.

It seems to me that Dallas will need to rebound like mad and cut down on turnovers to get 3 more wins.

I'm cheering for Dallas, but not many teams have won 3 straight home games since the 2-3-2 format was instituted.

Dallas was clutch tonight, but the Heat celebrating prematurely and choking was a big help, too.

I'm interested in seeing how Miami responds in Game 3.

Unfortunately, because of today's rules, classic big men are less important. Dribble penetration and athletic wings are favored big time.

Please let us not forget our man Shawn Marion who kept the Mavs close throughout the game. Had 20 and 8 and some amazing defense at the end of the 4th.

I do think that those easy points are not a matter of who is guarding `Bron or Wade but a matter of turning the ball over. We can not throw the ball away 18 times against the heat. A turnover/assist-ratio at about 1.0 will kill us in almost every game.

Marion is definitely playing well, averaging 20 points over the last few games.

Unfortunately, he has lost a step to time. I hope he can turn back the clock in this series, though.

Luck also plays a factor for every team that wins the championship.

I'm also glad to see Carlisle keeping the Mavs on course.

Dumars and deceased Piston owner Bill Davidson were their own worse enemies, driving out Carlisle and getting caught up in a game of revolving coaches over the last decade.

Matrix was the reason game was within the striking distance but that last couple mins was unreal.

Should be a huge confidence boost for MAVS rest of the way.

yeah if we get 2 games at home i will be ecstatic. don't see us winning all three games, stern won't have that.

the thing that excites me is the fact we haven't played well at all this series, and our still tied 1-1.

peja is MIA since the Lakers series, terry is sporadic, kidd has been awful with the exception of the last 5 minutes, and Dirk has missed a lot of good looks he usually drains. if one or two of these pieces start clicking, watch out.

i agree, Peja has sucked since the Lakers series. but a few games doesn't ruin your rep as a lethal shooter. he keeps the defense honest like deshawn or brewer cannnot. hopefully he regains his form at home, b/c if he does it will open up the offense for everyone else.

I feel that if the Dallas bench can step up to outplay the Heat reserves and LeBron-Wade can be slowed down (with Bosh going MIA), Dallas can win.

On the flip side, Miami is telling itself that Dallas has holes to exploit and if their team plays like it has for an entire 48 minutes, Miami will win the Finals.

Not that I'm being a sycophantic, but Dallas is better than Miami's Eastern playoff opponents. Philly was too weak, Boston had gotten too old, and Chicago was too young and overachieving.

I also want to see how well the Heat hold up in crunch time. Bosh outplayed Boozer in the ECF, but has been a nonfactor. LeBron is no Jordan. Wade is the one I respect the most out of the three, but he can't carry the Heat to victory all by himself.

WOW! First of all watching this game at the Mavs Watch Party was amazing. It felt better than an actual game, the way we came back against all odds. I see that people are rooting for this Mavs for many different reasons, and I thank everybody who is supporting us. I just hope we can take it one game at a time, and do what Miami did to us in 2006. I am still sort of in shock what I saw 4 hrs ago, finally something went a little right for us.

Winning after this kind of comeback is AMAZING.
Winning against Wade's Heat and see him crying is PRICELESS.

This is a great quote dude. Hopefully we can see Wade crying 3 more times :D

I counted. Dirk had 3 assists along with 9 pts during that stretch. Amazing.
