Re: The Bradley Beal Thread
Big rules the draft and while smaller players are projected as top 3-4 picks, when the draft comes around Gms always go big first. Just look at what happened last year with Kemba and Knight. They were projected to be gone before 7 as high as 3rd thats why the Kings traded back, just to go 8th and 9th. The same will happen to Beal.
Let me ask you this who had a more impressive freshman season Beal or Barnes? If you answered Beal you are lying to yourself. And Beal has a lot of the same weaknesses as Barnes not a real shot creator, suspect handles, add to that height/lenght issue and there is no reason to take him above Barnes who is a better fit for our team, let alone take him at #2.
Trying to get excited about him, but just can't.

Ricky Pierce is no Mitch Richmond. Not sure if Scott Burrell would've been better or worse.
a slightly taller david wesley

i mean, thats who he is right? wesley was a 6'1" combo guard. not good enough ball handler or creator to be a full time point guard, but able to play some point guard in situations. moved to shooting guard where he was undersized, but his strength allowed him to guard taller players. deadly shooting off picks, in catch and shoot situations. solid NBA 3pt range. good rebounder for his size. great guy. smart.
make wesley 6'4 and you have beal.
(note: wesley is one of my all-time favorite players, so this isnt mean as an insult to beal, quite the opposite)

I often thought that if Wesley had been bigger he would have been an allstar.

Re: The Bradley Beal Thread
Give me Beal, JJ Hickson, and the 31st pick(whoever falls out of first round- Royce, Quincey, Jeff Taylor, or Cunningham)
That team would be years ahead of the team we watched play last year.

I'd rather try (Drummond) than settle for the safe guy (again).
What Ex-Hornet do we want to compare Beal to? Dell Curry? Scott Burrell? Ooh, I know, Ricky Pierce!
I barely remember that guy, it says he played for us only 1 year.
Lol, I know, I was being sarcastic. He was actually a pretty cool guy.

I was hoping somebody would draw that comparison. Congrats, you passed my test.

Re: The Bradley Beal Thread
draft nerd on radio today said he thought beal was 2nd best player in the draft, but said he was hearing lots of talk about MKG to bobcats, which he also thought would be a great fit. said bobcats might not be looking as hard at beal because they are happy with hendo (paraphrasing). also said he worries about t-robs ability to score over length and that trob would have to turn into a pick and roll guy (probably similar to a david west) to really be a great NBA forward.

Re: The Bradley Beal Thread
Beal will get his opportunity to show his stuff. He is rated #2 on at least a couple of "experts" radar. I was very high on him from the early part of this process, and still like him, but I am more concerned about his ability to score and grow in the NBA system (at the level expected of a #2 pick). He doesn't have the best handle, hasn't demonstrated effectiveness via P&R, footwork is not the best, shot is not as reliable as you'd like (especially from 3). Still, he's got a sweet-looking stroke, great vertical to help him compete with taller 2's, a good physical body, and fine potential to become a major scoring threat.
I still see no reason in the world why the Cats would want MKG at 2, or anywhere close to it. In everything I see there is a big flashing light that says "UNDER PERFORMER" above Gil's name. Horrible shooter, small by SF standards, slower and a low vertical in the measurables, played in a Kentucky system that masked his weaknesses (per an NBA scout). Stay far away from MKG. I'd take Beal over him in a heartbeat.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
