You're arguments are so weak. People that applaud ESPN have nothing to stand on. ESPN is deliberately trying to push this agenda. They've been replaying the kiss through out the day. What straight couple have you seen get that kind of attention from a kiss?

The fact that it offends you so much is the reason they're playing it. You don't hide history.

You dont hide a kiss or him being drafted ?

From what I'm seeing, there are a lot of feelings that "Yo, it's great that he came out and he's gay, but don't show them kissing!" As if it's cool to be gay as long as no one sees it. Being private gays isn't breaking barriers. That's why they're showing it so people see that a dude kissing another dude just got drafted into the NFL. That being seen is more historical than it being said.

Considering most of the best Number 1 and 2 wideouts are at or over 6 feet and hover around 220? Yes. He won't be jamming receivers or altering their routes (not because of his size, but more it's just he doesn't have the strength), but rather has to rely on his speed alone to keep up with his man and pray he gets a deflection with his short arms.

If Jets drafted him to play nickel, will he be better than Kyle Wilson?

Also, Im not blaming Sam but I am blaming Sportscenter for showing like a hundred times a day!

I have no doubt ESPN is doing it deliberately for their own self-interest of ratings and profit. However, the underlying moral justification is valid. ESPN and most media are taking the stance that social discrimination against gays is no longer acceptable in the United States of America.

That an image of two men kissing makes many feel uncomfortable is understandable, but is itself part of the problem and pales in comparison to the much bigger problem of social discrimination.

Funny how nobody's mentioning it was also an interracial kiss. There was a time when heterosexual interracial kissing was taboo on national television because it made some viewers "uncomfortable." When Walt Disney's ESPN starts showing men kissing, it's a good sign of the times that all those who find it "abnormal" need to move on and accept it. Or move to Russia or the majority of other ass-backwards countries that are still living in an outwardly racist/sexist/anti-gay era.

I actually thought they underplayed the kiss, if you watched it live they were full on making out lol and I kept watching to see if they would replay it or kinda sweep it under the rug and they only replayed it a few times and very briefly

I'm fine with the Giants draft. I like getting a Center in Richburg and a bruiser RB in Williams, who hopefully fixes that third and short issue we've had forever. The rest of the picks seem to be just special team players. I'm worried about LT and TE.

The point is WHO CARES what he does in his personal life. He should be measured on his performance on the field. He shouldn't be getting any more attention just because he is gay. Unfortunately, ESPN is treating this like some sort of historic moment like televising the first man to walk on the moon...

When what he does in his personal life is something people ostracize him for, like you did in this thread, then yeah, it does matter, and is historical.

I am wondering how many Rams players are comfortable with the fact that he will be in the lockeroom and showers with them.

To those who are against them replaying Sam's moment, would y'all be against if it were a straight couple kissing?

@Meloholic, the reason it is getting publicity is because Sam is the first openly gay football player. This is big news whether you realize it or not. In terms of big moments in history, this should definitely be considered one because of the messages that come with it -- equality regardless of sexual preference, everyone is equal, etc.

I don't have a problem for them kissing each other but why do they have to replay it all the time? It seems like more than me, its ESPN who thinks its not normal and therefore need a reason to play it all the time. Why else would they feel the need to replay a kiss? What does that have anything to do with Sports?

They are replaying it because it is a big moment -- first openly gay male athlete drafted by an NFL team. That is big news. That is why they are replaying it. Since when does ESPN only focus on sports? They focus on sports related stories. This happens to be a very big sports related story and, thus, it makes sense to play it on ESPN.

So you think it is absolutely important for showing him and his boyfriend make out?? I mean why do people need to see that like every 20 minutes? Everyone knows that Michael Sam is the first openly gay NFL player but they don't have to keep showing them kissing
