For sure. And I'll admit that I have changed over to the Ingram side. Take out all of his aforementioned intangibles (poor performance in school, poor leadership) and the glaring issue I have with Simmons is him foregoing a wide open elbow jumper for a drive in the lane and passing it off. If he's hesitant to shoot not just 3pters, but mid range shots too, then we have a problem.

I'd much rather risk our pick on a 6'9 with a 7'3 wingspan shooting guard. The moment that completely sold me on Ingram was him guarding lightning fast Cat Barber on a switch and completely shutting him down. I know that won't happen every time, but it was a glimpse at what he can do.

Take Ingram out of school, put him in a constant strength and conditioning program, which I'm sure the Sixers have an elite program, and Ingram becomes a stronger, faster, better version of himself.

Yup he has been switched on Barber a couple times this year and has done well. But I know what moment you're talking about and ya that was my biggest take away from that game, showed a ton of potential on D.

And when it comes to his weight, it is definitely a concern but his dad is a pretty thick guy now and said he was really skinny in high school and put on weight in his early 20s. But ya give Embiid definitely put on a ton of muscle since joining Philly, if Ingram can be half as successful as Embiid has been with putting on muscle he will be just fine

My opinion hasn't changed a bit since this thread started, which is Simmons or Ingram = yes, I want one of them. Getting a top two pick this year is a key to this draft, along with loving the middle of the draft as well for guys like Valentine and Hield.

Simmons is s ready made product, Ingram is the better fit because we will be getting Saric, but I want one of them or at least the chance to draft one of them. That is where the value drops off big time, after the second pick.

The DX move feels to me like Woj telling Givony to go out there and get some hits for the Vertical. The post that accompanied the change could have been titled, 'If Simmons Doesn't Go First, Here's Why.'

I understand dining Simmons for his various weaknesses but elevating Ingram when he is mired in a prolonged slump is strange to me. I'm not certain which one I prefer at this point but I found the changes strange.

Also, I question everything from a Woj based source when it comes to anything Lebron (Klutch Sports Group).
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Has this been photoshopped? He looks stronger than Deandre Jordan. Also, Jah has freakish big hands but dog gone! Frankly, I'd be surprised if Joel weighs less than 300 lbs. He is Shaq-sized. (Now I'm worried about his feet again... )

Is this the first time you are seeing this photo?

It blew up the internet a month or so ago.

I don't know what he weighs now, but I would guess that he is in the 270-280 range. Shaq was in the 290's I think when he was drafted.

I try not to think about Embiid very often although the Bodner shooting video got me all riled up!

I guess I missed this pic. Shirley Temples for everyone!!

Forgot who I was arguing with on here that said DX's top draft board doesnt/wont change much from beginning of the year to end... Love to see their argument now lol, Skal's no longer at the top, Neither is Murray, Ben isnt the consensus number 1..

It wasn't me, but Simmons was 2 in August and is 2 now. Murray was 6, 7 now. Labissiere was 1 then, but obviously has bombed about as hard as humanly possible. 7 of the top 9 in August are still top 9 now, and 9 of the top 10 then are still top 10.

It usually changes a bunch right before the draft based on intel they receive.

I was just reading a recent Chad Ford article on Espn, and thought that this excerpt was timely. All of the people freaking out about Simmons, and saying that he shouldn't be the first pick in the draft should enjoy reading what this guy wrote about Lebron back in the day.

Here was Charley Rosen's take on LeBron James on ESPN.com before the 2003 draft.

"[W]hat about his poor shooting percentage (40 percent)? He didn't make a jumper until later in the third quarter and then celebrated by banging his fist into his chest.

"Yes, James has good hands, quick feet, extraordinary hops, and a lively body. Yes, he's also an outstanding passer. But his defense is atrocious. ... He always looks for the easy way out, making perfunctory swipes at the ball, and gambling on every entry pass.

"In high school, LeBron James might be a man among boys -- but in the NBA, he'll be a boy among men. Skilled, experienced, powerful, and above all, ruthless men."

"A note to long-suffering Cavaliers' fans: Don't get caught in the LeBron James pipe dream. The best King James can ever be is an average NBA player."

People should stop worrying about Simmons and prepare themselves for the fact that he is going to be the first player taken, and will be a superstar in the NBA.

I was just reading the Giannis = Simmons thread. If Simmons can really play PG, then I would be more interested in taking him over Ingram. That isn't to say I would take him over Ingram. Ingram slides into three or four positions on offense and defense pretty seamlessly. With Simmons, you're still trying to allow his strengths to come out while hiding his weaknesses.

The Ben Simmons Scouting Report from Draft Express is up... An interesting read, and reiterates what Givony said on the Vertical...

I'm going to be watching those strengths and weaknesses video at length...

Amazing how many people are on Ingram now...is there video/stats out there that only a few people have seen?? He is the consolation prize...nice to have, but not the star quality that Simmons brings and this franchise desperately needs. Simmons has unique talent in rebounding, ball handling and passing...what is Ingrams unique talent? Nice shooting from the college 3, and very long...body type isn't the same as embiid, so don't expect that growth. Nice to get either, but players with skill sets like Simmons are what propel your franchise to the next level...Ingram can be a very nice piece, but doesnt have that same impact.

I don't care who we get, as long as we have a top 2 pick the debates and arguing can rage on. I'll just be happy with a top pick, a Dario Saric, a reconditioned Jahlil Okafor, and hopefully a healthy Embiid.

Soft. Seems to be common theme on both ends of the court.

Offense: "His average length and propensity for avoiding contact around the rim hurts his percentages as a finisher inside the paint (he converted a just-decent 55% of his attempts here in the half-court)"

Defense: "He often looks very lazy here, not making any effort whatsoever to close out on shooters and avoiding contact and physicality in a very concerning way when challenged by opposing players."

Yes, now that they have each played a NCAA season, there is video/stats out there that many have seen. "Star Quality" is what people talked about before there was actual video to discuss. Apparently, you haven't been paying attention to the college game. Unfortunately, you missed out on Ben. Turns out his star quality didn't get him to the Tournament. Even worse, his team declined an invite to the NIT due to Simmons academic ineligibility and/or his teammates refused to play with him anymore. Or, maybe I just made that up but neither reason would surprise anyone who paid attention to Ben's hollow NCAA career. I give him a D+ which approximates his GPA.

Take the best talent available if it's Simmons play to his strengths and give him the ball. Get your best depth of talent on the floor regardless of fit and weed out the lesser talent . .

Yeah I have officially switched to Ingram myself. I see a guy who when engaged can be an excellent defensive player as well. We are going to need that from our wing position regardless of whatever type of identity we try to create here in Philly. It is vital that our wings can defend or we wont be competing for anything. Honestly that is the selling point for me at this time...Ingram is the better defensive player than Simmons. I see Paul George.
