Not a good comparison. Parker at this stage of his career was a shell of his former self. He was bit piece as Patty Mills has been the better player for a couple of years now.

Parker had been their starting PG up until he got injured, correct me if I'm wrong.

Barely. He plays 25 MPG and Mills plays 21. Mills was clearly better this season. They basically just lost Brandon Jennings and replaced him in the starting lineup with a Bledsoe/Dragic/Teague caliber PG.... So no, its not the same as us losing Wall...LOL

Tony Parker was pretty good in the postseason. 16 ppg in 26 mpg with a 61 TS%, he's been better than assists and has a much higher ORTG than Mills. I agree Mills is better defensively but would MUCH rather have a healthy Parker than Jennings.

Back to my original point, not many teams can withstand the loss of their starting PG in the playoffs, look at what happened with Rondo and the Bulls. The Spurs are fortunate to have Mills.

He'll say that now, but on the Raptors board there was a video posted before the Raps-Cavs series which was more or less like a home movie put together by Cavs players during the wait time between the Pacers series and the end of the Bucks-Raptors series.

The Cavs players DEFINITELY had preferences and lots of bawdy comments, though I don't recall what they were exactly.

Shame. Nene looked like he was in great shape, lost weight, was having a really good season and was ballin' last series and in Game 1 in SA.

Rockets only paying him $3M too. Incredible value.

They could have used Parker in game 4.

Zach Lowe wrote this in an article about the Raptors/Cavs

"The Cavaliers give no thought to anyone in the East beyond John Wall and Bradley Beal."

Yeah LBJ says he doesn't care who they face, but I would say he prefers to play Boston rather than the Wizards. Boston are easier to game plan for, they have no bigs and significant rebounding issues which play into Tristan and Love having huge games. But we're getting ahead of ourselves here.

If you don't set yourself up for a let down, what kind of Wizards fan would you be?

Lebron was beating the Wizards with Gilbert 10 years ago. He's probably even better now.The only thing that's beating him and the Cavaliers will be extreme good fortune and perhaps bad luck.

I recall Magic Johnson in his prime suffering an injury. The Lakers didn't win that season. I'm not wishing any injury on Lebron but I do believe both Love and Irving are at less than 100%. I want to see the Wizards make it to the ECFs because they'll be playing with house money from that point on. They can try and run Cleveland into the ground. At that point fitness and injuries start to happen. Nene and Parker showed what attrition does to players over time.

Our starting five can compete with theirs. Our players are generally younger/fitter than theirs. They don't defend any better than Boston. Maybe just maybe time will start to catch up with James IF the Wizards can hold serve the first few games. What I THINK is going to happen is that Cleveland will have at least a one week layover between games. Meanwhile, Washington and Boston are going to end up being a very competitive six or seven game series. The winner of Boston/Washington is IMO NOT going to be swept. If anything, they're going to steal one in Cleveland. I think Cleveland is only vulnerable if injuries happen over a tough, contested series.

I just hope Washington can make it to Cleveland and they can give them a much tougher series than anyone anticipates.

Harden also had about 3 turnovers in overtime as both teams failed to score with Kawhi out - he was really illustrating how hard it is to be 'the guy' and it kind of drove home the idea that I hope we don't all pile on Wall if something like that happens at a future point.

Harden actually had a good game overall, but was just tired and sloppy by the fourth quarter.

Rockets 16-48 from 3. :sigh:

Also worth noting - Gortat is at a whole 'nother stratosphere from LaMarcus Aldridge who has regressed into 1990's style ug'ball. Just all these mechanical museum-piece postups that ALWAYS go to his right and achieve nothing beyond cringes and poignant Vitaly Potapenko remembrances.

Grass ain't always greener.
