If he could can add 50 pounds maybe. He's thin as a rail.

Lots of guys come in the NBA thin.

He's got no upper body frame and his legs are super thin. If he had a broad upper body I'd agree that he can get stronger...but he doesn't have a frame to add "good" weight.

Well he was weighed before the draft last year at 218 lbs. I'm guessing KP is at 240lbs so not a huge difference....

You need to set up Twitter notifications from people like woj, shams, David Aldridge, etc.

You won't waste your time refreshing and you'll know the news before it's posted here.

I'd rather have Melo

So you'd rather the Knicks be worse AND you don't get breaking NBA news?

doesn't fit in. I think we'll be playing fast bball, pushing it and taking quick shots when someone is open, we need all 5 that can hit from everywhere and run. Willy is just too slow.

Maybe give us Qi for Willy? Qi would be like having another Porzingis coming off the bench :o

Willy just made 1st team rookie. Qi might not make a NBA Roster. TF is good with y'all?

There's a difference. Look at his upper body compared to KP.

It'd be hilarious if the deal broke down because they weren't willing to include Qi :o

All this leverage? Not even close. Denver played the Knicks (Dolan's) lust for Melo. What Houston and Morey would give up wouldn't be near as much.

Melo clearly wanted to come to the Knicks. It was an open secret. So the Knicks had all the leverage.

The Rockets clearly want Melo and Melo is willing to do away with his NTC to make it happen.

The Knicks have all the leverage.

:)

I think willy can be still usefull when game slows down and D gets harder, so I don't mind him at all. KP can't handle all the centers in the league, it might get really ugly occasionally  .

But we've got a ***** up situation. We still got noah and Kyle.

The sad thing is that Melo at PF would be perfect if he was ready to run, pass, play D and wouldn't hug the ball or tried to be a hero and forced the shots.

I think it would be very enjoyable to watch this lineup, well except without Andersen and someone like Jabari Parker at PF

How many teams is Melo willing to consider? Melo holds the leverage not the Knicks.

That doesn't really sounds like leverage since Melo is probably willing to stay in NYC the rest of his career and there's no other teams in the bidding.

I'm just hoping Morey throws us a bone to get it done so that they get their superteam.

Trade is about to get finalized. Melo decides at the last minute not to wave his NTC is classic Knicks.

We couldn't build around Melo better because he was selfish from the very start. Instead of waiting to sign with the Knicks as a free agent, he behaved like a brat forcing the Nuggets (and Knicks) to trade for him. This completed gutted the Knicks of young players and draft picks. A core of Melo, amare, Gallinari, chandler and Mozgov plus the future picks would have been a really great and young core.

Good riddance

Also, not true. Melo wanted to come to New York. He was also bein courted by Brooklyn. If he were a free agent, the Knicks would have had leverage. Instead, Melo was open to Brooklyn and the Knocks felt pressure to get a deal done by the deadline in order to get him. Otherwise, they would have waited. This gave up all of their leverage.

Ewing was a expiring...I agree we cannot take extended contract for a player option Melo at the end of the season but still if we can get picks then its better then what we got for Ewing.

Knicks trade franchise center Patrick Ewing, acquiring Glen Rice, Luc Longley, and Travis Knight. They added $90 million in payroll through 2004
