I think the closest 1:1 comp by far, and granted it's not in perfect alignment, is Caruso. Not like Turner at all.

It's definitely close enough that if you've ever wished we had Caruso over the past couple years, you're going to be thrilled with this pick. Extraordinary role player who keeps things humming offensively and plays like he's one and a half guys defensively.

I am aroused.

If he can be a playmaker, it would be of high value to the Bucks. None of our current pg s is a good creator.

Andre is just so much smarter with the ball and worlds more athletic than Banton. If you squint there are some similarities, namely the struggles from deep and being big dudes with guard skills.

He seems to have a rare combo of high motor and actual basketball skills. Seems like the motor guys are basically out there playing football but this young man can hoop. A shorter version of Andrei Kirilenko?

That would be a fantastic outcome.

I don’t think he’ll shoot like Caruso, who is 36.5% from 3 for his career, but he looks like a better playmaker and a better athlete (and Caruso is a very good athlete in his own right)

True, but I wish AJJ could become a 36% fake 3 point shooter. I hope he can develop any signature scoring play that helps him net more than 6 ppg while playing 36 mpg.

Like everyone else, I love the rest of his game.

This is the one guy I would've wanted if we had our pick at 30.

So yeah, I'm good.

Marcus Smart is a career 32.5% 3pt shooter on a volume of 5 shots per game for his career. 3 of his first 4 years he was at 30% or below.

There are many ways to impact a basketball game. Focus on those while developing the shooting. And if it doesn’t come, it doesn’t come. Double down on the good stuff.

Hell, Giannis hasn’t hit 31% since his rookie year.

Are we really going to hold up Marcus Smart as what we want anyone playing basketball to emulate ever?

As annoying as Smart is with the floppy stuff, he is still an impactful defender even without that. He was also the starting PG of a finals team.

We temporarily had Bill as our GT thread leader/mascot for a while a few seasons ago. That was fairly entertaining.

Until he became a sad Xavier meme.

Bucks played PJ for 40+ a night during the finals run. I think it'll be ok to have someone who is a general non-factor offensively if his defense translates and I don't think he'll be a non-factor on offense with his playmaking.

He can't shoot, but he can dunk and finish. He'll be one of the highest IQ players on the team immediately.sad, but true.

It's not that sad considering his BBIQ is off the charts good.
