So if they’re showcasing him to try to drum up interest from other teams for trades, they better get a star back.

Otherwise, JK is going to demand the huge extension even ,ore because right now, Warriors lack scoring other than Curry and sometimes Wiggins, who shrinks in big moments and just defers to Curry and now JK.

You don’t trade him. It would be the biggest mistake. You pay him. If he was only developed under a development coach and team, JK would have looked vastly different. Curry is fading and they are going to transition to a development team in the next few years.

Give a player over $40-45 million or more on a development team?

Maybe if he gets a big offer sheet, Warriors attempt a sign and trade, meaning he stays past the trade deadline.

He refused the Warriors offer of like $150 million for 5 years. His agent must be confident that another team would offer much more than that or he’s committing malpractice.

Or maybe he thought that same deal will more than likely be available after this season so why not swing for the fences?

True but he had a slow start and all his numbers were down, like FT%, 3P% and 2P%.

He hasn't been making those in the paint jumpers any more.

But in the last 5-7 games, all his numbers have trended up and instead of those pull up 8 footers, he's been able to get to the rim the last 3-5 games.

The issue is can he do it for like 20-30 games or more.

At this rate Kuminga will be a goner. Nets will likely offer him the max this offseason with their cap space.

Well the Warriors will likely match any offer sheet, just so they don't lose him for nothing.

Then they can do a sign and trade and get something back.

But really, the Nets? I thought they were trying to hoard draft picks and not give out big contracts.

Nets are about to shed several huge salaries, Simmons, D'lo, Melton, Bogdanovic. But they have 3 RFA deals in Cam Thomas, who's averaging almost 25 points on very good efficiency, Sharpe and Zaire Williams.

Fact that they're looking to trade Cam Johnson, who's on a good value contract, suggests they are going to be in rebuild for a couple more years.

So they don't seem like a suitor to sign Kuminga.

Extending an offer to a restricted free agent generally sucks for the team that does it. It's how the Lakers got Reeves for like half his value. If the warriors really did offer the 5/150, jk should fire his agent, immediately.

The nets will have their pick of FAs. why would they make an offer to a restricted 22 year old vs a proven unrestricted FA?

This upcoming free agent class is weak. Brandon Ingram is the only FA that’s better than Kuminga and would fit under Net’s timeline. Don’t think Kuminga will go for less than what his other draft class players got this past offseason. Warriors’ issue with matching is they’re heavily incentivize to stay under the first apron next year and giving Kuminga the max will not allow this.
