What I also gather was, Spurs raps & minny all tried to get him for scraps, were never serious contenders from all parties. Ultimately it was always between Miami & Houston & Miami is cheap

Great deal for the Rockets. Replacing Green with KD is a massive win.

According to a source with direct knowledge, the Heat not only declined to offer center Kel’el Ware, but also did not offer forward Nikola Jovic to Phoenix in final discussions between the teams before Suns shipped Durant to Houston on Sunday.

Also, the source said that Miami was never willing to offer more than one first-round pick.

The Heat’s final offer included Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, two bench players and the 20th pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft. Haywood Highsmith and Jaime Jaquez Jr. were discussed as those two additional pieces in Miami’s offer, the source said.

I mean… it’s quantity over quality for sure.
I believe in Masai.

It's so much fun to revisit perhaps the greatest nba podcast of all time.

Ishbia taking over again to take on a terrible contract in Green, where I'm sure the ball knowers in the org didn't want to do, and just bailing out the Rockets. Loves himself a Beal trade.

Maybe they were the only team providing a lottery pick, but you can't take on that contract with it. Keep thinking that was the issue with the Raptors offer. That 9th pick was being worked elsewhere in side deals if anything.

we actually don't.
obviously if a prime target like giannis is available, you try to make a move. but otherwise, we don't even know what we have in our team right now.
there are a lot of moving pieces.
our starting lineup has never played together; our bench is a bunch of players on their rookie contracts. we don't know how or even if its going to come together.
sometimes no move is the best move.

Agreed. GIANNIS was the only one I would have gone after as best as possible. Luckily , we have Masai and Bobby... relax.

If giannis became available, then rockets and spurs would have way better offers than us

KD dictated where he was getting traded too, by saying internally which teams he will/won’t consider resigning with. TOR wasn’t part of that selection.

Yes they do. Ingram and RJ are redundant, and they are going into the season with a glut of guards. They need to make a move to balance out the roster better.

If KD extends and is healthy Rockets win trade. If not both Suns win.

I think Brooks is a big loss for Houston...he was a young glue guy that just makes your team better.

Houston has to hope that KD is healthy at this age, a risky move, but if healthy they are a true contender.

This Booker/Green thing looks promising, and distinctly different. I'm sure that will work.

Real question is, can they get a Jordan Poole to go along with it? Maybe Simons? What would that cost them? They should look to pull the trigger on something like that.

Edit: Maybe CJ Mcollum too?

Suns need a big man.

I don't think it's clear that they have way better offers.

Spurs - Yes, if Milwaukee values the #2 much higher than #9 + Barnes. I don't think any of the potential Spurs players that could be included are "face of the franchise" guys you build around but I would argue that Scottie is.

Rockets - Yes, if they are willing to trade Sengun and Thompson. That starts your rebuild core with 2 very good players. I think Toronto has a better offer if Houston isn't willing to trade both guys.
