They are but probably not for that package. They want to unload vets for youth and expiring deals. Besides Shumpert, those others don't qualify. I do think they'd be interested in Shump but there aren't really any deals that work.

I think the Knicks should look into that Alec Burks kid on Utah. Somehow they should get a deal involving him and Enes Kanter and just build for the future.

Afflalo is averaging 21.9/4.6/4.7 on 48 percent shooting and 51 percent from three (5.4 attempts per game).

This is the guy we need. I wonder what Orlando would want from him.

They can have literally anyone aside from Melo and Tyson, as long as it doesn't involve picks.

That makes sense since we're a jumpshooting team anyways.

We're a jumpshooting team because we have no PG.

We don't make that worse by getting rid of everyone who is slightly capable of penetrating.

I prefer JR over Thornton who is one of the great chuckers of all-time.

Does Thompson/Jimmer work for Ray/Shump --- I wouldn't mind that one.

Thompson at least gives us a young big-body pure PF and I'd like to see what Jimmer could do if you put the ball in his hands --- he may not be able to penetrate like most PGs but he can really shoot the ball and makes good decisions out of the high-pick/roll. Would like to see him work that with Bargs.

Clippers make out sweet on this deal === getting a great scorer and shooter.

The Wiz might do this one but giving up Beal is a big gamble.

Knicks seem to get screwed as Clippers 1st round pick will be at end of 1st round and Wizards are also a potentional playoff team in the East. Otto Porter dissapointed greatly in summer league and has been hurt all year and the knock on him is a lack of athleticism.

I like 1st round picks & Porter but we should at least be getting some other youngsters like Bullock & Seraphin & G-Rice Jr.

I live in CO -- absolutely loved Burks coming out of CU but he has not proven he can shoot the ball in the pro's. Great ability to get to the rim but very up/down shooter.

Kanter I'm not really a fan of -- have not seen anything that tells me he's a top 15/20 center in the league.

Laker fan. I come in peace. Would you guys consider this:

NYK: Rudy Gary & Amir Johnson, LAL: Melo, TOR: Gasol & Nash.

Not a chance. With Melo go contracts and in return Knicks get young budding stars or picks. If Melo is gone it is a full rebuild in 2 years. No desire for Gay's contract.

Or nothing at all this off-season. I see where you are coming from though. I really hope that you guys get back to the Knicks of the 90's. Loved those teams with a passion. When the Knicks are good the league is good.

Since we don't have quality basketball to discuss, or any great trade options, I thought I'd just say that the Knicks should do all they can to get Kelly Olynyk simply because his name is so apropos and wryly amusing.

Aaron Afflalo would be a perfect fit for this team - can hit the 3, put the ball on the floor and get to the hoop, seems to have a high IQ and can rack up assists, very good defender. Exactly what you want next to Melo - a high IQ, well rounded player that can put up points.

Too bad we weren't thinking Camby's expiring plus either Shumpert or the pick that went to TOR for Afflalo. He would have been a better fit and would allow us to play a plus defender at the other forward spot.

That being said - could some kind of 3 team deal where Bargs heads to Houston (where he's a perfect fit), Afflalo and Baby Davis to NY, and assets from HOU to Orlando (or a 4 team with Asik going to a 4th team and assets acquired flipped to Orlando).

NY New Lineup:
Chandler
Davis
Anthony
Afflalo
Pablo (I benched Felton for Pablo)

or

Chandler
Anthony
Metta
Afflalo
Pablo

It's beginning to feel more and more like something will go down with Melo eventually.

I see him either going to the Clippers in some type of Blake Griffin exchange -- or to the Lakers in some multi-team trade.

The only piece I'd truly want on the Lakers is Jordan Hill -- plus picks & trade exemption --- plus some other young up & coming player from a 3rd or 4th team. Gay would be interesting playing next to Melo because he can be a legit 3 who rebounds next to Melo as a 4. But if Melo is being moved Gay doesn't make much sense for us unless we were getting some other young legit talent that made eating Rudy's deal more palatable.

Hells no to Gay. Want Melo? Lakers are gonna take back our bad contracts and give Jordan Hill, Farmar and what ever young players you have.
