ManRam, what's your opinion on Oriakhi from Mizzou? It might be the fact that I'm a current student, but I think he could be a nice 2nd round pick up if the Bulls don't take someone like Withey in the first.

he wouldn't be bad for an early to mid 2nd round pick if available. he's not a sexy pick, but physically he has the tools to at least be a defensive minded banger who can finish easy plays. he knows his role and is very efficient playing it. maybe he has the athleticism to provide more upside than most 4 yr senior, 2nd round picks. i think there's a slight possibility that he could end up as a late first after he goes through the combine because his defense is NBA ready and his tools and athleticism are ideal for a PF. all i know is that he's MUCH better than he showed last yr.

What about Allen Crabbe from Cal? Prototypical size for a 2 and can shoot it.

I'm praying we can land one of the bigs projected late 1st: Rudy Gobert, Jeff Withey, Gorgui Dieng, or Lucas Nogueira.

Oriakhi? Watching the guy all year I haven't seen anything that indicates he has bad hands or stone hands. So far this year he's been efficient and hitting his free throws.

My main concern was his height as a center, but he does have good length and strength.

Asik had bad hands, but the Bulls traded for him anyway.

I don't think the Bulls are going to be scared off because of bad hands or below average height for a center for a second round pick. I think finding players missing lottery-caliber attributes but good "system" qualities, much like the Bulls did with Gibson, is more important.

I brought up Oriakhi, because he brings the type of versatility that Thibs likes in his big men and could be an ideal 4th big man as a rookie if he can grasp the Thibs system. Patric Young from Florida is another I like that someone mentioned earlier and has similar attributes as Oriakhi.

Has BJ Young from Arkansas been discussed yet? DraftExpress has the Bulls picking him and it seems like a pretty good fit.

Edit: Here's the DX scouting video on him:

BJ was discussed a good bit last year. I got to see him play in person again a few weeks ago and he really didn't look impressive. He played real timid, took bad shots, and settled a lot offensively. Defensively, he was a non-factor. There were a few plays where he stopped loafing and took the ball to the hoop and showed flashes of what people think he could be, but aside from that he coasted.

It was disappointing considering my school doesn't have any worthwhile defenders, and Young was guarded by a 5'9 guard the whole time. I got to see Kentavious Caldwell-Pope play in person last weekend, and he looked much more aggressive and flat out killed whoever we threw at him. I would've liked to see Young take advantage of defenders who aren't of NBA caliber.

To Young's credit, he played a lot better against my school last year and dropped like 27. I just wish I saw more progression from him this season.

He had a good freshman year, and though he's still scoring, his sophomore season hasn't been fantastic. His shooting has fallen off noticeably and it's a big part of his game. He's shooting 21% from three this season on about 3.5 attempts. He shot 41% from three last year on a little more attempts.

He's a pretty good athlete, good speed in the open court, and when his shooting is on, you can see why people like him. But there's surely going to be some red flags about his shooting dropping off, which explains why he's 24th ranked on DX this year.

Great game by Tim Hardaway Jr tonight. Good height for SG, but thin. He's shooting the ball well this year. His game reminds me a little of Belinelli. I could see him getting some consideration in the teens, or even late lottery.

If we take a big in the 1st round, I wouldn't mind taking a wing such as Deshaun Thomas or Reggie Bullock in the 2nd.

Offensive foul. Franlkly, because he blatantly stepped on him, it should have been flagrant. I don't think he had ill intentions obviously, but he could have really hurt him with a fairly wreckless play.

He is skinny but he does have quick feet and grabs a bunch of rebounds... He would be a perfect fit for our team... 7ft players always scare me concerning injuries and Dieng might be the more complete player, I just don't think he would fit too good on the Bulls. I would love to get Lucas.

If we decide against a big with the first pick then I was checking out Dewayne Dedmon for the second pick, I only checked out players from the mock draft but I think he would make a good project rookie who could even give some good playing time his first year in case of an emergency (injury), he even comes with a NBA fitting story. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/DeW ... dmon-6506/

I would love to have Phil Pressey on the Bulls but we probably won't be drafting another point guard

Hardaway Jr.'s stock is improving. His 3 ball is what has me intrigued. He plays solid D, has good length, and if he can stroke that 3 with that quick release like he has been he could be a good gunner coming off the bench. I also like his size, length, and hops to get his shot off. I see him going anywhere from 20-28. Good value there too as he is still improving and has improved a ton in the past two seasons.

"My status is unclear," he said. "College is a great preparation for life and college has already taught me a lot. I'm looking at every option, both staying in school and looking at the draft."

Ricky Ledo; 6'6" (6'7"?) PG/SG with good handles, good shot, good athleticism, and obviously good size, complete with good length. You can see in these videos that he can make plays either penetrating or shooting.

This video features Ledo, at the age of 19, holding his own against a certain rising star from the Washington Wizards.

This one includes some commentary and analysis from the Jordan Brand Classic last year.

When I see this guy with his size, length, and athleticism, and see what he can do handling the ball and shooting it, I can't help but think that he could be our volatile scoring 2 as well as a very capable secondary ball handler to Derrick. Not to mention he's got great defensive potential given his physical tools. He'd be an interesting guy to see Thibs sculpt.
