The shorter players from the league leaders are welker, Desean, Antonio brown, Cruz, and Garçon. Harvin if not injured.

Welker, Harvin, Cruz work out of the slot a lot.

Not to imply that you must be over 6 foot to be a successful NFL receiver, but guys who are over 6 foot with a sub 4.5 40 time have natural tools to develop into a dominant receiver.

Justin Blackmon? elite?

Blackmon is nasty if he can stay on the field and work with a decent quarterback. He will likely never amount to much because he can't get out of his own way, but skill-wise he is unbelievable.

He was good in college. Never good in the NFL. It really hurts your argument using his name.

And Josh Gordon lead the league in receiving yards, despite being suspended for two games and catching passes from weeden, Jason Campbell, and their 3rd stringer.

I'm not trying to make an argument. Just pointing out some traits of the leagues more successful wideouts.

It is possible to be fast and over 6 foot, but still not be successful. I was just trying to select some league leaders in yards, TDs, ypg, etc, to determine if any measurements were more valuable than others.

Just pretend he is not there if it really changes your opinion that much.

I will miss Desean Jackson! I'm a fan of his. I think keeping Riley Cooper and cutting Desean Jackson is total crap!

He's been in the league for 2 seasons, played 20 games with awful to mediocre QBs at best, and has three 130+ yard games. To say "never good in the NFL" is a little extreme for a 24 year old, no? I'm not saying he's Calvin Johnson, but he is certainly talented.

Justin Blackmon is very good. If he could stay out of trouble, he'd be a top 10 receiver in this league with anything that resembles a decent QB and/or decent offense.

I get a Bynum feeling from him, in that he doesn't like football but plays because he's good at it. He got suspended for 4 games, comes back for 4, then gets suspended for the rest of the year. I hope he gets his head on straight.

good, I hope he torch the eagles twice a year for the next 5 years

a good comeback for the lies and rumors Chip Kelly and Roseman leaked to the press
LA police say Jackson has no link to any crimes or in gangs
LA district attorney say Jackson got nothing to do with the murders of 2 people he know , was never a suspect

just a salary dump and throwing garbage at a player who had no arrests , no problems off the field just so the fans wont up roar

Lol they never accused him of bring involved in the murders. Nothing that came out has been a lie. If you think they cut a pro bowl wr and ate dead cap money for a salary dump of a few mil you're a moron

Let's see he was pulled over with drugs and money a couple years who but charges were dropped

The highly suspicious robbery that he won't return calls on and police found no forced entry, 100 bucks and car keys still on the counter that was probably staged bc he owes rosenhaus 400k which is why he wanted to redo his deal for a signing bonus bc he needed the cash

He was late to meetings

He had that outburst on the wr coach during a game so more than likely that wasn't the first time he may even have lashed out at Kelly who knows

He flashes gang signs everywhere and is friends with teen murderers

No good team is even going after him or Andy Reid who lives 2nd chance guys

He's a problem and they made the move bc they don't think him being on the team is good for the team anymore

That's only what's public knowledge I'm sure their is much more that isn't

What a major kick in the balls. It seems like every star receiver we cut ends up going to a division rival. :banghead:

BTW do we get a compensatory pick for losing Desean or not?

You don't get a comp pick unless you lose a player to free agency so no

DeSean isn't a Chip guy so the team moved on from him. If someone can't understand that well that's their issue.
Personally, I don't believe the Eagles leaked anything to the media.

Jackson goes to the Skins then so be it. Sure he's a dangerous player, but it isn't like he can't be shut down at all.

ryst wrote:then please tell me why he was cut, find me one good reason and don't come at me with contract disputes , all players in the league has contract issues and all of them want more money all the time

Because he's a locker room problem and is unlikeable. Why haven't ANY teammates come out in support? Kelce passive aggressively said he doesn't mind he's gone. Players would say something if they had an issue with it or wanted to show support for Desean but none did.

He doesn't try hard in practice. I saw that first hand at training camp where he clearly was half assing it.

Also too, you can't just ask for a new contract 2 years into the one you just signed and expect to not be moved if they don't want to pay you more or restructure.

Apparently Chip never liked him either so why keep someone you don't like?

Only a couple teams wanted this pro bowl receiver showing his baggage.

He also was late to meetings and wouldn't return Chip's calls.

There were many reasons and then ON TOP OF ALL THAT you have the worry about him getting into trouble.

Also too Chip said that "big people beat up little people". Desean's 5'10" at most. He wants big, Dez Bryant like receivers who can also block.

The writing was on the wall after the playoff game....DeSean speaks to the media and says he wants a new contract and more money....then decides NOT to show up to exit meetings with the coaching staff.

His on the field contributions will be missed, but he can be replaced. Were trying to build a new team here and if a guys attitude/work ethic don't mesh with what the coach is trying to instill in the program, then sometimes gotta let things go.

Better to do this now, then have it become a bigger distraction during the season/camp.
