Because Taylor has a history or penny pinching when it comes to this roster in the past and was reluctant to sign Rose just this season because he wasn’t sure it would help.

Is Thibs fault if he accepted a title and he isnt making the calls. Like Wiggins extension. There was rumors that was Taylor who wanted Wiggins extension, which fits the story about Taylor wanting to talk with Wiggins before to sign. Still being Thibs fault. You are the GM or you arent, if you accepted the title you make the calls. If not, quit (at the GM title at least).

Yea he should just quit and break his contract and give back tens on millions of dollars. Completely sane logic.

He can keep his false title and money, but still his fault.

Was Noah or Deng available? No.

Nate Robinson was available and is reportedly looking to get back in the NBA.

He still can. I'm pretty sure you have to play a certain amount of games.

Damn is Fultz still eligible for it then?

No. You aren't a rookie if you've clocked more than 1 second in an NBA game.

Julius Randle got injured minutes into his rookie debut & missed the rest of the year. He was a sophomore the following year

Really? It's not like baseball? Seems like kind of a dumb rule

Well, it makes more sense in baseball where they have September callups and stuff.

Yeah, I would just think that with the G League and 2 way contracts being added, it would make sense for the NBA too. Plus you always have injuries. It seems odd that Joel Embiid can qualify for being a rookie in his 3rd year, but Randle didn't and Patton won't when they've each only played a couple minutes in a single game.

Embiid never played a minute of his rookie year, neither did Simmons, which is why he's a rookie right now even though he's not a true rookie like Donavon Mitchell.

It's a pretty controversial topic, a lot of people think there should be a minutes minimum/game minimum to still be a rookie, but in the NBA..the moment you step on the floor, that's your rookie year right there.

Actually...I think you need to be injured while having 0 games played..because if Patton rode the bench the rest of the year, he'd be a sophomore next year, right? Since he was healthy enough to play? Now i'm starting to confuse myself

Exactly, I just don't really see much of a difference between that and Patton playing in 1 game for 3 minutes, or Randle playing in 1 game for 13 minutes. I think there should either be a certain amount of games or minutes needed, or just have everyone's 1st year on the roster count as their rookie year, regardless of how long they were on it or how much they played.

It doesn't matter, but I think it would have been cool to see Patton in the running for it next year. I certainly enjoyed seeing Wiggs and Towns win it, although there wasn't much else to be excited about then.

And Embiid actually didn't play a minute until year 3. And even then the only reason he didn't win over Brogdon was because he only played 31 games.
