Saw this post on the Cavs forums. Kinda made me think.

So, did he just retire? I feel like he just got his last big payday and is gonna go on a four year retirement tour in LA.
I think golden state broke him. Now he just wants to have his swan song someplace warm

The Cavs team was weak last year. The Pacers took them to 7 games. We had a 3-2 lead and had it not been for Rozier, Brown, and Smart pulling major choke jobs in game 7, we would have beat them with Irving and Hayward.

Why would he want to stay in Cleveland if he can come and play in L.A. L.A. has some much more to offer for multi millionaires. Most of the NBA stars come to L.A. for the summer.

Lebron will be bringing playoff basketball back to the Lakers. It’s a more exciting opportunity for him. They also still have a spot at getting Kawhi and competing for a title either this year or next year.

Magic still has more moves to make.

Where do I try to convince you to do anything?

I'm asking what decisions Celtics fans would make. I did the same with Clippers fans when they were looking at having to extend CP3, Griffin and Reddick last year.

Or Toronto fans when they were looking at extending Lowry when he was over 30.

You guys seem to take it for granted that the East if not the title next year is yours. If either of that happens, great, but there are tough choices coming, whether or not either result occurs.

Which of KD, Curry or Klay are you letting go? 3 elite shooters is clearly a luxury and you cant pay them all.

Well some Warriors fans talk about trading Klay and Green for a package for AD.

But if they win the title again next season, the owners are going to have to pay Klay and KD may opt out and ask for a 5-year deal.

It's going to be hard for them not to keep the team together if they're on a title streak. Next year would be a 3peat and 4 in 5 years, the year after that would be 4peat and 5 in 6 years, etc.

As long as they're on a title streak, the owners can't let any of the big 4 go. Especially since they're going to be looking for very high ticket prices and PSLs as high as $35k, just to be able to buy season tickets.

One local broadcaster says they've already got $2 billion in revenues booked over the first few years of the new arena that they're building. That implies they got a lot of non-NBA events booked already.

If they're going to command that kind of revenues and one of the highest if not the highest ticket prices in the league, the fans are going to expect them to keep the team intact, especially if they're trying to maximize titles while the core players are in their primes.

Many championship teams have reloaded on the fly. Also, neither Klay nor Dray is resigning in NO. Only thing they’d do is screw up their lottery picks for a year or two before moving on.

We are the top dawg in the east but we gotta think about how we match up with a team like the warriors if they make the finals. We all expect brown assuming he’s not traded to take a big step next season. Same goes for Tatum assuming he gets stronger before the nba season starts.

They have to include Deng because there just aren't that many more players that they can move. But before SAS takes Deng, they are gonna want the motherlode of packages. Not sure this deal happens which is why some people here are suggesting that we swoop in at the last minute with a 50 cents on the dollar package if the situation in San Antonio becomes untenable before camp and they feel like giving the finger to the Lakers and/or Kawhi as well.

The Lakers have the market boxed in if they hold 2019 cap room. Zero chance we offer Jaylen or the Kings pick if that stays.

But... Spurs will make them bleed for it. First by waiting until the rest of the big FAs sign. Then, by completely excluding them from a Kawhi trade unless they outbid the field by 100%.
