Not as strict about the steps. Basically let guys have a longer start before the jump.

LaVine had a two-step vert of 41.5" at the combine. Highly highly doubt his athleticism grew by 4.5" in essentially two weeks.

I know it’s only been two preseason games but I’m just wondering if your opinion is still the same.

Culver has not looked out of place - With the right attitude, the sky is the limit for him.

Yeah, it has. I honestly thought he'd struggle more. He is a more than capable athlete but it's his smoothness and polish to his game that stands out. We'll wait and see until the real bullets are flying but he's already turning my head in a pleasant and unexpected way. Maybe my views were colored by Wolves fatalism.

Calinks did last game change your mind about Culver vs Cam Johnson?

Nice to hear.

He’s the same guy who was the lone star, pun intended, on a Texas Tech team that made it to the championship.

Also, he’s playing better than Hunter so far.

I was feeling real good about Culver and then he laid an egg against the Bucks. On to the real games now. Go Wolves!!

I am worried about this pick looking at Coby White preseason...something like Flynn Rubio Curry ghosts...

Hope I am wrong..

Big difference is most people had Culver>White no one had Flynn>Curry

There are always gunna be later picks that turn out better it’s when you gamble and it doesn’t turn out that you really regret it. No ones talks about taking Derrick Williams over Klay Thompson or Wes Johnson over Paul George but no one will ever forget taking Flynn over Curry.

Coby white had one big scoring game otherwise he sucked. I think he averaged 1 assist per game in the preseason.

Better than your beloved Covingtons rookie preseason

12 points on 3-10 FGs 1-3 from Three (Bucks)
13 points on 6-15 FGs 1-5 from Three
24 points on 10-22 FGs 4-9 from Three
18 points on 6-16 FGs 4-12 from Three
29 points on 10-14 FG 6-8 from Three

Those are good percentages from White. One off game, also against Bucks, with 1 of 3 from three. Maybe a bit streaky from Three. Had the two bad games shooting threes.

Culver on the other hand.

11 points on 5-8. 0-2 from Three
17 points on 6-18. 4-8 from Three
11 points on 5-9. 1-5 from Three
15 points on 7-14. 0-3 from Three
8 points on 2-12. 2-7 from Three (Bucks)

Good percentage from 2, only one game from Three. The rest show a lessor propensity to shoot threes and make them.

Preseason smeashin. The only thing to be learned from here really is that the Bucks will smash all again this year.

So every rookie that has a mediocre preseason will end up being as good or better than Covington?

My apologies then. I only knew about one big scoring game. Seems he had 3. How many assists and steals did this PG have?

More to the game than 3 point shooting. Little things like defense (blocks, steals, contesting shots), rebounding, assists. I will grant that White could be a better scorer than Culver.

Not every rookie, but a trade for 2 prospects is worth the gamble. Also Covington is a good defender but I think we could benefit from someone tougher leading the defense... we need a bulldog like a Draymond, Beverly type. Our team has no heart because it definitely isn't going to come from Towns (as talented as he is)
