I hope we sign him. He can be useful on some matchups. Teams will grab him fast if we cut him.

It's BS that he isn't signed already

He's already got more potential than the rock bottom ceilings of the french guy, wannamaker, waters guy behind 5 others, at least Yabu was finally waived.

Guys. Tacko is on an exhibit 10 contract. We own him and his rights. We can convert him to full roster in October, concert to two way, or cut him and if he goes to Maine gets a 50k bonus.

To everyone who quoted me, I’m well aware he’s on an Exhibit 10.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t want the kid signed to the roster soon, so he doesn’t have to worry until October about trying to impress to make the team, which may draw away from his focus on his craft.

Tacko has proven he can ball and is clearly a better use of the final roster spot than Veteran scrubs like Greg Monroe or Ryan Anderson, as well as the formerly signed Yabusele.

he needs 3-4 years to get there. We need to find a creative way to get him a 4 year deal. Stretching yabs will do.

Low guaranteed money, if possible. Only arguments for NOT signing him are obvious but I'll just state them for the record are that you want to leave the spot for a mid-season cut and the contract would be onerous to simply waive or that you have a better prospect in mind for the spot.

I can't imagine the contract would infringe on their ability to waive him if they have a strong veteran buyout opportunity and he's considered the weakest link. And, hmmm, maybe Jontay Porter, but I don't have another name in mind to take a shot on in terms of undrafted free agents.

EDIT: Theoretically, they might be considering a 1 for 2 type trade I guess too.

Theis and RWIII are a bit redundant. So are Kanter and Poirier to an extent. I think keeping Taco on a 2-way as an eventual 3rd stringer while you sort out which 2 of those previous 4 are going to be your rotation 5s makes a ton of sense.

Take this FWIW:

Read on Twitter

The person is claiming hardcore that a CP3 deal to the Heat is done, so if CP3 is dealt for Dragic, Waiters and Olynyk I will start getting excited that we have Tacko.

Yeah, whoever this guy is, he's off in the stratosphere.
We can't have 3 x Two-Ways, simultaneously.

We'd have to wave one, and then we can sign another.
One team had like 6 x Two-ways, in the course of the Season.

Assuming it would mean we either waive Strus or convert Waters.

Yeah. Too bad we couldn't keep all 3 on Two-Ways.
That would actually work out for us. And still keep a Roster spot open (at 14).

I hope that we don't actually have to wait until the next CBA, to expand the Two-Way Contracts project.

Guys tacko is a legit impact player in the NBA. What are you all smoking. He will be a rotation player this year and he will probably be starting in the not distant future.

Small ball is just a short term fad.

I see it as a 5 way battle for 3 spots.

15th roster spot , two 2 ways

1. Veteran
2. Spot left open for veteran
3. Fall
4. Waters
5. Strus

We actually could fill the spot for now. Test these guys out.
If need be, we make a 2-for-1 Trade. Or just waive one.

He went undrafted, I doubt he's crying about not being guaranteed a deal yet when they gave him an exhibit 10 contract and some good summer league burn. I'm all for this kid, I think he can grow into a useful role and he is really easy to root for, but people need to re **** lax on this until there is a reason not to.

I figure it's a training camp battle.

Fall or Waters could earn the roster spot. If it's left open or filled by a vet, they get the 2 ways and Strus gets cut. Ironically Strus should be rooting for them. Funny competition that way.

No ish. Guys are acting as if teams are lined up to sign him. Guy will be in Europe next year most likely. His switchability is.......low.

I thought I saw a report/tweet from one of the Boston reporters that said Strus never actualy signed a two-way.
